  1. "dark blue suit and black shoes" Maybe I'm off but I'm somehow not able to wear a dark blue suit with black shoes. As for matching the watchband with your shoes: yes I would match my watchband with the shoes or overall clothes that I'm wearing. But possibly I'm taking the matching thing a bit too far because I also don't wear a black faced watch when I wear dark blue suit/ blue shirt/ sweater or white or brown shoes. Just a small note: wearing a black faced watch with blue denim is not uncommon for me because I'll match the watch with my shirt, sweater, shoes, belt and so on. Btw maybe my post sounds judgemental but it wasn't ment like that. I was just stating what I'm comfortable with and if you are comfortable with combining black, brown and blue all together that's all good. If it works for you it works.

    Best jeans

never saw this thread before but here's my take on the subject. Got 30+ jeans and got APC, Levi's (regular 501's, stf's, Capital E, LVC), Nudie, Hugo, Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, Evisu, Diesel, Edwin, Blue Blood, Fake London, Latjo Lajban, Replay & El Charro. Fav depends on the mood and what I'm doing and where I am. Lately I don't wear a lot of denim but when I do it's probably one of my El Charro's, APC's or modded 501's.
  3. Btw there is also an Australian denim brand called Imperial that has high quality denim. http://www.imperial.st/brand.html http://www.imperial.st/retail.html for retail adresses. Not sure if you maybe visit the other cities because Adelaide isn't on the list.
  4. Really Diesel? Really True Religion? The classic jeans that has been adopted by other brands is the 501 from Levi Strauss & Co. Through the years the 501 has had some minor "facelifts" but overall the 501 has been the most adopted fit. Why is it that popular? Well probably because a 501 can be worn with every kind of shirt and with any type of shoes. So it's suitable for either dressing up with a nice button down shirt or just really casual with just a polo. btw I own about 50 pairs of jeans from different brands (Levi's, Ralph Lauren, El Charro, Nudie, Evisu, APC) and while most of them are 501 or based on the 501 some are a bit looser (for instance 508 for walking around in the hot streets of Jakarta) or tighter for a slim fit. I would follow Scoobs advice and ask some lady friend to go shopping with you to find the clothes that fit your new bodytype.
  5. Thanks for sharing this info with us. A really nice review to read.
  6. Congrats on your upcoming wedding. As for the tips: everything has been said already. Cuff-links and a Zippo personalized would be the way to go. I was thinking also of a sterile watch with a genuine swiss eta in it but the cost would be about $200 a piece and I do understand that that would be a stretch. Nevertheless the members here gave you some good advice. Have a great wedding day..
  7. Just to add my 2 cents: I buy a watch not for the public to see but for my own passion and enjoyment. Most of the time people in general never even heard about Patek, Vacheron Constantine, DeWit, Franck Muller, Concord etc. and they also wouldn't know how much a watch would cost. In my case people tend to think that everything I own or buy, is expensive. For example: on a trip to Asia I picked up a cheap Timex Indiglo, I liked the look of it and it had the indiglo functionality. When I came home to Europe I just wore the watch and the people around me never even heard of Timex. I told them it was a cheap watch and they didn't believe me. But to get back on topic, if it is that you want to 'deceive' people by wearing reps than yes you should probably buy reps that are derived from gens that would be affordable for you. If you don't care about what other people think and you buy and wear watches (either reps or gens) for yourself you don't think about the price of the genuine. For me: I buy the watch I like no matter what the price tag of the 'real deal'
  8. Looks nice. Great design also with a headphone on the figure.. enjoy your cufflinks

  11. New to this forum but certainly not new to the world I want to respond to this. I can relate to a lot of stuff that has been stated here by some members. Next to watches I'm also into sneakers. Yes I know that's an awkward combination but I've got the same issues with both hobbies: finding someone in my own circle of people that have the knowledge about the subject at hand (i.c. watches or sneakers). I'm so grateful that there's internet and that there are communities of people that are also interested in the same stuff as I am. And to answer the question: I'm not lonely because I've got a great GF who is always willing to listen to anything I've got to say about one of my hobbies. But it's nice to find a place that can inspire me and that can give me more info about the subject. So thanks to Internet and you people out there sharing the same interest this forum exist and boy am I thankful for that. Keep it up people...
  12. Thanks people for the warm welcome. It's fora like this that inspire me to do things yourself. And thanks to people on fora giving advice and info it's much easier to make things yourself.
  13. Hello all, I stumbled upon this nice forum through google. I'm not really into replica's but more into watches and especially the mechanical movements some watches have. Planning to maybe assemble someday my own watch with a nice swiss movement and a plain dail. What I've seen on this forum so far is simply amazing. As a member of several other fora (sneakers, superfuture) with a different interest it's refreshing to have stumbled upon a friendly watch forum. People here seem friendly and willing to help you out so I'm very glad that this forum exist. Hope that the pleasant vibe that this forum has will be safeguarded till the end of times. Greetings, Jake
