    Thanks guys!

Today I took my first walk downtown with the wife. I look like an 80s AIDS-victim, but at least I'm standing. Take care of your loved ones and don't forget show it!

This is great news mate!  So glad to read this!

  3. Wow, great to see you back By-Tor!!!

Such a great story, nice to read others as well.

This was my first rep, back from 2008 v3 Euromariner from Eurotimez off this forum back in the day when I was a 1st year medical student.

I thought I would buy the gen version as soon as I had the $$$

Well, almost 10 years later, and though I have plenty of $$$ now, this is  by far my most favorite and special watch...no desire to by a gen.

I enjoy wearing it and looking at it with pride for at all the time I spent modding this watch, sanding the retaining ring to fit a gen bezel insert, drilling the case for a gen tube, getting the gen crown to fit the DG stem,  drilling the lug holes, making the chamfers, etc

Here is the first pics when I first got it before she got few  upgrades over the years like the flat S WM9 dial and TC hands and a vac relume  :)

  4. agree, the 1675 continues to be  an elusive model.

I'd only suggest that watch if you were happy with the way it looked already....but if you desire the details and want it to "LOOK" gen, it won't get there.

AS others mentioned it needs too much work...in addition the bezel assembly is wrong and the hands look terrible, the hour hand is atrophic and the lume color isn't even close to the dial.

one I built awhile ago, gave it to my dad.

Next one I'll just buy gen.

  5. Hmm, I'll try reducing the speed and see if that helps, I think 5k rpm is the lowest I can go on my dremel... is that slow enough?

Regarding the lume: I did the hands myself to match the dial, the dial was already lumed when I got it :)

Likewise, thanks for all your wisdom :) Because it's almost impossible to buy exactly the parts you need for one watch, I have way too many more builds in the pipeline, at some point I may start selling some of the pieces :)

You end up buying a part, doesn't fit your case, then you buy another, but what are you gonna do with the initial part? A second case of course... multiply this by all the parts you need for a build and there you go. It all evens out at some point if you keep building stuff, so waste material is kept to a minimum hehe

    5000?!?!? Oh no!
You need a press to be in the hundreds! ;)

    Good luck!

  6. wow!!!

    What a great project!!!

The dial is kinda like a mark V but with a different "f" in the ft, very cool.

Who did the relume? Looks amazing.  Are those mbw hands?

As for the bracelet, I just used a drill press and a vise with leather to hold the last link in place.

I used some oil, a low speed, and very slow.
