  2. This is great news mate! So glad to read this!
  3. Wow, great to see you back By-Tor!!! Such a great story, nice to read others as well. This was my first rep, back from 2008 v3 Euromariner from Eurotimez off this forum back in the day when I was a 1st year medical student. I thought I would buy the gen version as soon as I had the $$$ Well, almost 10 years later, and though I have plenty of $$$ now, this is by far my most favorite and special watch...no desire to by a gen. I enjoy wearing it and looking at it with pride for at all the time I spent modding this watch, sanding the retaining ring to fit a gen bezel insert, drilling the case for a gen tube, getting the gen crown to fit the DG stem, drilling the lug holes, making the chamfers, etc Here is the first pics when I first got it before she got few upgrades over the years like the flat S WM9 dial and TC hands and a vac relume
  4. Thanks, I'll give this a read when I get a few free minutes, looks interesting!
  5. Amazing!!! This is the only two tone watch I have ever liked, and this one is perfect shades of blue. I would love to build one of these one day, this one is inspirational! I prefer your dial to your coworkers gen!!!
  6. Wow, awesome build!!! Absoultely the best YM franken I've seen, huge congrats. How long did it take to get all the parts??
  7. wow that case looks great! What's your process to bevel/chamfer the lug edges?
  8. Wow! Beuatiful gen! Any details on this one? Fantastic patina!
  9. Misiekped repaired my beloved 1665, super fast turn around, fast shipping, good communication.

She never looked so good, thank you!

  10. Wow!!! Very cool! Curious, how does it prevent the case from being scratched?
  11. agree, the 1675 continues to be an elusive model. I'd only suggest that watch if you were happy with the way it looked already....but if you desire the details and want it to "LOOK" gen, it won't get there. AS others mentioned it needs too much work...in addition the bezel assembly is wrong and the hands look terrible, the hour hand is atrophic and the lume color isn't even close to the dial. one I built awhile ago, gave it to my dad. Next one I'll just buy gen.
  12. depends on movement. what's the engravings say with the bracelet off in between the lugs? Take off the case back and take a picture. if asian 21J 2813 it's a $100 or so used.
  13. texture on the dial lume looks awesome! Good job! Any reason for the yuki hands vs the mbw? Hard to tell from the pics if they are any better.
  14. ^^^Sounds like a keyless works issue...
  15. ^^^the V5 comes with AR on the cyclops....as did the V4, and the V3....
  16. Great find! Keep it away from RSC, they dont give a crap about vintage pieces and will throw new hands on there and proudly charge you for it. Since the shape and size of the hands looks good, id send to pbdad to relume them to match.
  17. Guess it can't hurt to try.But I always broke bits at high speed in my expience. Good luck!
  18. 5000?!?!? Oh no! You need a press to be in the hundreds! Good luck!
  19. wow!!! What a great project!!! The dial is kinda like a mark V but with a different "f" in the ft, very cool. Who did the relume? Looks amazing. Are those mbw hands? As for the bracelet, I just used a drill press and a vise with leather to hold the last link in place. I used some oil, a low speed, and very slow.
  20. holy crap! Awesomesauce! Where'd you find this unicorn??? MAy we ask how much said unicorn cost???
  21. wow, amazing! What are you retiring from?? Superfranken for sale now? Enjoy!
  22. I think you've had enough practice, it's time to step up your game and make a quality build with some better parts I don't think one of those watches had a pair of decent crown guards. I'd focus on quality over quantity now. Good luck!
  23. I like the look of the Rolex submariner wayyyyyyy better. amazing watch, very lucky.
  24. well, depending on how hot the guys wife was that I'd just serviced, MIGHT post.
