  1. so rolex finder and london george are the same? this was started in 2010, and still nothing ever came of it? Nobody even got a dial?
  2. Very nice! The crown guards have the v1 look and need some minor massaging. Love the v1 dial, very niiiice. Is the bracelet a hollow mid link, meaning nice and light, or is it heavy? very curious. nice pics! congrats
  3. wow, it's going to be tough for sellers now with everyone wanting everything on their rep to perfect.
  4. wow, those crown guards are still HUGE after the sanding. bezel looks nice.
  5. ^^^no it is not. It is close, but the engravings are rotated a little too much clockwise in relation to the dial.
  6. Who's got the best navitimer. What I want to know is what's the guys name with the best submariner.
  7. ^^^you seriously think those hands are black? Have you never tilted a watch with SS hands in the light?
  8. Nice collection! where did you source the DSSD specifically from? The pearl looks nice and flat unlike the bubbly noobfactory ones.
  9. F*ck going to France for a vacation... You just represented your country like it full of a bunch of a$$hats. But I agree with others that the DSSD was made to compete with the popularity of Panerai and Breitling models to name a few. moving forward is beneficial to brand equity if it is done to bring the brand to a new innovative level. I have not seen this done yet, and the price increases are not reflective on their innovative input to the industry. An all white gold ceramic blue submariner for $25k USD? wtf....
  10. back from the dead, but awesome thread! This link was great! http://www.classicshaving.com/articles/article/590351/5693.htm And this video too. I just learned how to do the Gillette slide, the J hook, and blade buffing. I have always wet shaved, but with mach 3 and shave gels. Just ordered a badger brush. I am looking for to purchase a good shave soap, conditioner, balm, etc. Any recommendations for brands and retailers that sell them in the US?
  11. Who is sourcing/dealing mbw's these days since etz is gone? that 5512 looks amazing!
  12. why do you guys want to waste this dial on vintage projects? The whole point of this modern dial project is to capture the recessed numerals on the dial and color to the lume. Which you totally ruin if you put snowflake/raised lume on it. Just get a dsn dial and put vintage lume on it. Any idea on a ball park price and release date?
  13. Thanks for the kind words, it's nice to hear compliments from some of the people who have inspired me in this hobby (since I still feel rather new.) Unfortunately, I do not have any great stories to tell about this watch, or a parts list, or rare parts. I had seen this watch for sale in brand new form from a member on another board. It was squeaky clean and sparkling. It just didn't look right. I have almost an obsession with vintage things, I cannot explain. And for being 30 years old, it is quite odd to my friends. I saw potential in the watch, and it proved a great platform. I think this is all I did to the watch. filed the edges of the bracelet and case, rebrushed the steel, drilled the case for larger lug holes Installed gen spring bars Vintagized the dial and hands. That's it, it was that easy! Not many other people would appreciate this watch, so I am thankful to have this community. warm regards,
  14. use Toad's wisdom, he has some great threads in his sig, I have learned a lot from him! Welcome to the site! But to answer your question: Explorer I Sub no-date Milguass white face wm9 sub date New GMTIIc They all share the same flaw, they are replica watches. And you can but them all from trusted sellers on this site.
  15. Congrats on the purchase, just thought I'd share an old thread with you for more info on the euromariner. Post pics when you get it! Here's a pic of my euro while you wait for your sub.
  16. ^^^good call, great and easy place to start to make a huge improvement. What's different about the gen hands vs. the rep hands?
  17. Nice, I agree with Jojo. What was done to the hands to make them fit? what's next?
  18. Very nice freddy, thank you! Which version of the CMT IIc are you using? This is not "the newest ultimate" from Josh's site with the "clone 3186" movement, is it? Your bezel font looks too thick to be the newest most repilicious model. Would you mind sharing where you sourced the gen crystal and what price range we could expect to pay for one? warm regards,
  19. Wow, beautiful dial! Great taste and a nice find! Give it a nice polish and you are set!
  20. Thanks for the compliments gentlemen. Unfortunaltley, I don't have much details rather than it has a A7750. I bought it in new condition from a member on another forum. I agree, the lume markers are too yellow for my liking as well. My ability to rectify the situation any further has reached it's ceiling, so I'd have to send it off to a lume guy which I'm not ready to do yet. Thanks again guys,
  21. Just finished a little aging to this watch to give it a more desirable look. This is now one of my new favorites because I don't see many of these, whether on the internet or in the wild. Feel free to express concerns, thoughts, or feelings! All my technical skills to take apart this watch (and put it back together) have been from you guys, so thanks! Hope you like it!
  22. looks great! You have great taste! I just made a baseball myself for my 183 if you don't mind me sharing.
  23. I decided to share some shots to help people decide if the extra $$$ for the wm9 bracelet is worth it. Only each person can decide that for themselves. The wm9 is on the left. The wm9 is finished nicely where you cannot see the lines where the 3 pieces formed the end link. Also, the wm9 accepts the 2mm gen bars, and has nice finishing around the recesses for removing the lugs. The clasp print is much nicer on the wm9. here is the noob. The crown is excellent. To me, this is almost worth the $125. And here is the notorious noob crown. :shh: it's hard to see it in this picture, but the noob lacks a lot of craftsmanship on the clasp. The wm9 is on the left. The endlink engraving on the wm9 is very crisp. Noob Hope this is helpful! warm regards,
