Nice! First thing I'd do is chamfer the edges of the lugs.

Rep clothing I've seen is terrible, I've bought rep Burberry scarves and shirts from ken before (not coats) and I won't do it again. What I do now is buy second hand on ebay. I got an amazing vintage burberry trench for under $100, had it tailored so it fits like a glove for $70, so all in $170 and it fits, looks awesome, and people with modern burberry love the vintage tartan colors and pattern.

yuki dial looks ok, but the gen mismatched hands are a no go from me, kills the look IMO. I'd get another set of hands and have PB or Vac relume them to match your dial if you plan on keeping the yuki in there.
-
from the pics I've seen the V5 is a great looking watch, it should be better than what I posted. take the plunge! worst case scenario, you won't have any trouble selling it second hand.

I just got a J12 with the ETA clone I like it alot. the new V4 noob Hulk looks retty good from th pics I've seen. Again, I'd rec ETA clone movement. here's the J12 Here's my noob V3, i think the noob has a little better dial print. good luck!

Hey Stephan, great to see you still have passion for this watch 8 years later! Buils like this inspired me to build my own, thanks! Am I not seeing pictures of the dial? very curious to see it. Here is some pics of my rail dial for you to compare. an older pic with the same dial, but old mbw hands and the 703 crown. recent pic with 702 crown and tube with better handset.

wow, looks amazing! That insert, omg, beautiful! Looks like a joy to wear! Best looking 5514 gen or franken I've ever seen, congrats!
-
What is the context? Are you building a franken? Are you purchasing a rep? Is someone offering this as a gen watch?
-
Nice job for your first build! Congrats! I'd try and take a little meat off the bottom of the crown guards near the case, and maybe shorten then just a smidgen to get a more gen profile to them. I like the fat font insert, but personally I like the flat top 4's on the older model subs.
-
use the search function please. Spend some time to educate YOURSELF, there is PLENTY of information on the is forum addressing your question.
-
I was wondering if there are any major problems with my Sub

in addition to the other things mentioned, Hour hand is too big but common on older reps. The insert has the thin fonts and paint overspilling the edges, It's not too bad for an older rep, I'd just enjoy it or sell it off and get a newer noob version. -
welcome to the forum, wow, what an entrance! Appreciate the apologies. We do have some nice members here actually. I am starting vascular fellowship this summer and will also be training as a flight surgeon later this year. What do you do? Nice watches, thought i'd share a few of mine so you can see some of the stuff we have on this forum. regret selling this one all the time.. ..sold it way too cheap! my breitling is a little older than yours....

anyone hear from Cats recently, I'm getting really worried. anyone nearby to check on him? Let him know we're thinking about him
-
Cats, please give us an update when you can, worried about you.

Cats, I don't know what to say. I work as resident doctor and I see sick people all the time, but, when it's one of the good ones such as yourself, it's impossible to prevent heartache. I remember reading your posts when I started this forum when I was a new medical student and always enjoyed your wisdom not in watches but in your good nature, positive attitude, approach to life. This may be just a watch forum, but, to me and others, its a people forum. People such as yourself have made this a community, its not just about watches, I come here to say hi to our fellow members around the world with a common interest. I can admit over the last few years the most joy I have in my crazy life as a new physician is from watches, learning about them, and more importantly the people I meet along the way. People such as yourself is how I survive a horrible day and need to make it through to the next. Great members such as yourself are never lost, as you continue on in those you have touched. Cheers to you mate, I imagine us sitting around, bs'ing, and making a toast in your honor of a good life.

world's most complicated watch sells for 13.4m GBP
CharlieUK replied to KB's topic in General Discussion
I think that must have been a typo in their article, there's no way that it has a 45 year power reserve haha. -
How much are they asking? From those pics looks ok. I'd always open the case back though, its easy enough to replace the gen movement with something else. you have something to open it with?
-
normally I don't care for DJ's, but wow, in that last pic your watch looks amazing!
-
SHows what a great base and platform the MBW is, you can keep on improving it over time. Here's mine, sime similar parts I also enjoyed this build the most.
-
Wow, what a piece of junk.... Funny how you trusted this seller with such conviction just to get scammed... ROLEXROLEX engravings are way off in alignment, Wokky cheap thin rehaut, wrong bracelet and clasp, wrong case, horrible pearl, no AR on the cyclops, wrong hour hand, wrong sticker on the caseback.... wow you got ripped off. Glad you followed the recommendations of the members here...

^^^That would be hard to do if the lug wire has not come out yet though.
-
Anywhere we can find ingod dials? I bought my 1665 rail ingod44 off ebay back in the day, I have no idea how to get ahold of him.
-
^^^Awesome CG's cme out great! gen dial? I'd get a better bezel, chamfer the lug holes a pinch, and recess the insert just a little and call it a day! Nice work!
