  1. Have had a 44mm PO rep with Swiss ETA 2836 that has been working wonderfully for about one year. Then this happened. Watch still runs perfectly and I can insert and screw down crown as always had been able, but crown/stem is no longer able to adjust time or date. ?? Looking for some guidance. My last and only experience with repair ended with MD2020 and that was a disaster. BTW the prior reference was with a different watch....this PO has never been opened or serviced. Thanks a bunch, I appreciate any direction that can be given!
  2. I love it, a beautiful 388 but now it seams forever linked to it's black band I'm more of a brown strap guy, I ordered this one with black just to have an option because I planned to and did order a brown gunny at the same time as watch. So now my black shoes and belts are getting more use just because I want to wear this watch. I love it so much I may just order another without strap so I can mount my gunny. Of course first I'll take a moment to laugh at myself and the silly things I do in this hobby.
  3. I'm partial to the old 911. As far as I'm concerned a sports car is about the outright excitement and experience of driving....not necessarily outright speed. And nothing beats an early 911. I also drive a current M3 and while nice, it is not nearly the sports car of my 40 year old 911. The opening post car is pretty close though - in the 993 series Porsche turbos the engines had gained modern levels of power but the electronic nannies were not yet what they are today....therefor the excitement level is pretty high. BTW - no stock brokers here, I drive the s**t out of it and do all the maintence myself including engine drops. It's a hobby like others.
  4. I really like the look of this 388... But I want it on my new brown strap. Someone must have an idea of how I can remove these lug screws. Sure I'm not first. Anyone know of it is typically the case or the screw itself that strips?
  5. I have the exact same problem with a brand new 388. I am not sure what is stripped....the screws or the case. Interested to see if there is any guidance provided by this group. I posted a few days ago. Unfortunately this is my only rad and I purchased a new high end strap for it only to find I now can't install it.
  6. ^^^^ ^^^^ Yes, this is exactly the case. Wire lugs are still in place so no way to push screws out. Don
  7. So what can be done if the screws that lock the wire lugs in place are fudged up? I did just receive a high end 388 rep. I did attempt to change the strap myself. Two of the screws turn out just fine, two will turn but do not extract out from the case. Indicates to me that at least some of the engagement thread of the screw or case or both is stripped. Is there a repair that can made to the case itself or is my only option to transfer the guts to a new case? Shame is I ordered a custom second strap same time I ordered watch and now have no way to ever use it. Btw it really is a beautiful watch. Don
  8. New here - this is my first post. Been visiting forum for awhile - lots of good information. Thanks. After playing around with modestly priced watches for a number of years ordered my first true rep. Very happy with it and the buying experience....bought during the recent special run by one of the trusted dealers. Pics below with bracelet and also with black leather. (Photography is not one of my hobbies)) Runs great +8 seconds after my normal week....actually pretty hard to believe it is that close. So happy I already ordered a 45mm ceramic PO with ETA movement. Waiting on it. Thanks all.
