  1. Happy Birthday LandM42006!

  2. Happy Birthday LandM42006!

  3. So, what would be the differences to look for that make a DSN 127 better than a 127 from say, Joshua or WBK? I too am looking for a fiddy, but cautious due to haveing a 7.25" wrist, and not wanting to sink too much money into a rep that I may not be keeping for a long time.
  4. Gotta ask, where did you get that bezel (ring) from? That pearl is the best I have seen so far. Or is that a Gen? Please PM me if you can. I am sick of sporting my PO with the crappy pearl it has presently. Such a tell!!! Thanks, Marty
  5. Well, RG is being difficult again, but hopefully I can open that thread up sooner or later. In the meantime, that is an awesome idea. Now, where do I get a needle? I live in a small town in the US, and I doubt I can by a syringe w/out perscription. And on the other side, there arent any needle users in my "circle of friends" where I could get a "hand me down". LOL
  6. The hand rotates fine in the hole provided by the dial. Either I need a seconds hand with a longer "tube" to accomodate the thicker dial, or a longer seconds hand driver / shaft / pin (sorry, dont know the proper name for that seconds hand pin) that would stick up approximately 1mm higher than what it is doing now. This watch would look like the bastard of all, but I like the look of it. So again, anyone with ideas, please chime in!!!!!!!
  7. Drhulee, If there are tubes in the strap, and you have taken them out but the strap is still too large / thick due to lack of skivving, give this a try. CAUTION - REQUIRES COURAGE, SOME GENERAL KNOWLEDGE OF POWER TOOLS AND A DRILL (ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE OPTIONAL). Take the tube out (if there was one in there in the first place), and take a drill bit of similar diameter to the lug hole / tube hole in the end of the strap. Once you have the drill bit size established, chuck the drill bit firmly, and then place the strap on the drill bit. Hold the drill between your knees (facing away from you), and with one hand, hold the strap by it's end with just enough pressure to keep the strap under control, and with the other hand, slowly energize the drill just enough to create a "bite" with the edges of the drill shaft eating away at the inside of the strap. Keep the drill as firm and safe as possible, and slowly, with out putting outer pressure on the strap sides, slowly erode the leather from the inside of the strap. But you must not rush, and take itsy bitsy turns until you get the strap where it will fit. I have done this before, and will work, but it takes a ton of time and a great deal of anxiety. Afterward, just re-coat the edges with some edge dressing, and you should be GTG with a strap fitting on the lugs. Just make sure the drill bit you are using is no bigger than a tube that would come with the strap, and use the drill on the "tourque" setting, not the "drill" setting (if your drill is so equipped). Otherwise, just go slow. Good luck, and pm me if you have any other questions. S/F Marty
  8. Leave him alone!!! He is so backed up from vacation, and I really want my 012 back in a bad way.
  9. I guess autos are thicker than manual. My DSN 240 and 104 are both 17mm. It is the caseback that eats about 3mm of height.
  10. Nothing says "Where's my watch?" better than a home visit to the modder. Thanks, but I dont think I need that info quite just yet. LOL Cannot rush an artist at work.
  11. Either way, Matt or Fred, THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD!!!! Seriously, Good seeing you Matty. I was doing so bad without RG that I was heading up to Charlotte and doing a house to house looking for ya! Bet Dave is missing you, LOL
  12. I went to swap out the dial on one of my Pams, and find that the new dial I want to install is a bit thicker than the old. Now my seconds hand will not touch the pin that turns it. Other than re-installing the old dial (which I did), what other options do I have? Thanks, Marty
  13. All, Lost and displaced RG Spartan while my home is being "re-decorated". I have a Pam out there in this cold cruel world being built by the one and only Speedy G. Taking RG for granted, I now no longer have a way of contacting Speedy to see how my build is going. Been jonesing for my 012 to be completed and back in the watch box where it belongs. Would someone please do me a kindness and provide the email adress for Speedy? Thanks and S/F Marty
  14. What exactly does "noobfactory" mean. Is it a style of manufacture? Additionally, what does the term "closed factory" mean, other than the obvious? Thanks, Marty
