  1. I am interested in this lens as well, picture comparisons I've seen online are amazing! Not cheap but seems to be good quality... It's just annoying that it seems to be the same in GBP as it is in USD! What's that about?!?!!
  2. I have received word that the U-Black is expected to be completed by the end of June...
  3. I would seriously consider going secondhand. Most places offer a warranty of some kind and you can save quite a bit!
  4. Oh, I forgot! You need to take a trip to the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich: http://www.nmm.ac.uk/visit/ They have loads on historical timekeeping: http://www.nmm.ac.uk/collections/explore/index.cfm/category/timekeeping including the very first clocks built to solve the Longitude problem! http://www.nmm.ac.uk/collections/search/listResults.cfm?Name=Marine%20timekeeper&SortBy=title They do free guided tours at certain times of the day: http://www.nmm.ac.uk/support-us/guided-tours but the links on the page aren't working for me so it might be an idea to email them for a timetable for the day(s) you are around I did it earlier this year - fascinating stuff and really brings it home about how accurate timekeeping (and therefore watches) is vital!
  5. Oh, touristy though it is, do the London Eye and take a map up with you with landmarks on it - you'll be amazed how small it really is when you're up there! Tower 42, the restaurant at the top of the natwest tower on Bishopsgate might also be good for that sort of thing! Bring a camera with lots of memory, there's loads to take pictures of!
  6. Jura is in Mayfair and just round the corner from Saville Row if you fancy some bespoke clothes shopping There's a couple more dedicated watch stores but I can't think of their names!
  7. Can you just put the watches in the slots without the pillows? I can do that with a couple of my bigger watches as the fit fine without the pillows and are self supporting. I do what mastrmindalliance does with my squishy pillows, leave the band undone and kind of leave the dial forward of centre, so it's not so prominent and you can close the lid.
  8. My extremely limited knowledge thinks they are supposed to have white a background? If so, the off white background and aged lume dots look suitably vintage, gen or not!
  9. How much did you pay for it? I think someone on RWG1.1 ordered that before they found the site, and it did actually turn up and it wasn't completely rubbish, but it won't be as good a quality as you can get off the recommended dealers on here. The best advice is to stick to the dealers on here and the other well known boards (RWG1.1, RepGeek (RG), RWI) as that way you shouldn't get scammed and should get exactly what you are looking for. There are thousands of scammers out there, only a few will deliver the good with no hassles and no problems, and most of them have been found already by the boards. Don't risk your money on something from an unknown site that will be likely to be overpriced and low quality, if anything turns up at all. What else did you buy and where from?
  10. I was going to order something from Perpetual but the guy was a complete [censored] so I decided not to lol Looks good though - I agree that you should have both parties' names on the dial!
  11. Newly arrived SOH v2 on new mesh
  12. Hey Robbie, I know I've not really spoken to you as I'm still a bit of a n00b, but it's good to hear you're on the mend It's the old skool folks like you who add a certain depth to the place! With regards to new stuff, I'm not sure what was around when you took time out! Concepta is doing some great IWC 3714 frankens with gen movements and dials, there's been a beautiful DJ II with black MOP dial posted, there's been a lot of love for the Breitling SOH v2 that appears to be ceasing production, we're up to the v5 or Ultimate version of the DSSD, there's been some lovely Milgauss from what I think is a new factory (?), and the Sinn reps that are out are stunning! Forthcoming we have the Sinn U-Black and the WM9/BK SD imminently Well, that's my shopping list covered... lol I'm not sure what others will suggest! There certainly are some great reps out at the moment
  13. It's all about the hype and selling 'exclusivity' as desirable, I guess - Rolex seem to have cracked it , generally speaking lol
  14. I'll agree with this! Although I would perhaps add "at the moment..." on the end lol Look at the Rolex models that didn't sell well and are now sought after and worth $$$$! If someone is constructing one-offs, who's to say that at some point in the future their work might be highly desired and the early pieces then worth loads? It's a risk to buy one-off stuff by unknowns, but you never know what the future might bring... For this reason alone I think it's a good idea to only buy stuff that you like wearing, as even if it's not worth anything in the future, you'll still have a watch you like
  15. Is this a new one, Ubi? Don't think I've seen you post it before I'm still undecided on them! lol
  16. New arrival from Mary Lume dots aren't perfect but apart from that it's pretty much spot on!
  17. Sadly she couldn't get one But she did get me a blue one I also have a Black on order from Trusty as he said he could still get it (I was wary but thought I'd take the risk) so I'm just hoping that it really will be a v2!! I've got mesh bracelets for both ready to go on but they are sadly nowhere near as shiny as the gen item, so I will have to keep an eye out I think...
  18. Damn you damn you damn you I need a gen mesh!! lol Will look forward to the pics
  19. Mary might able to get parts, I think she has done before
  20. Did the WM9s all have the same serial number? Although it's good for us to have individual serial numbers, it's also good for those passing them off as gens... (if this is the case here).
  21. Awesome, I'm seriously into blue and white at the moment
  22. Wow, I really like that! Gold really isn't 'me' but I can see me liking that one a lot
