  1. I am still seeing a lot of inquiries regarding the current status of the SOH, it's availability and it's details relative to the past versions. So I think it is time I make a revision to my comparison (I may need some Mod help to re-title it). However, before I can proceed I need to ascertain the exact condition of those that have been purchased recently. So if you have please post up some pictures so I can see what you got. Ideally if you can take shots similar to those in my comparison (dial, lugs, crown out, etc) it would be the most help, but anything will do. Also, if you can share where / when you got it I can piece together the history. I am pretty sure I have a clear image of the V3 / V1.5 but I just want to be sure before I publish it. Thanks all!
  2. Picked a hell of a starting point! Great job! Very satisfying doing your own work.
  3. U r the man! Love the jubilee as well. Pepsi has been on my list for a long time. BK transformer huh?
  4. Hmmmm. I can only think of one other menage et trios that is tastier than that. Thanks for sharing with us.
  5. Hello and welcome. If you thought it was tough before your wallet is going to feel a big hit now that you found us
  6. I thought the video was actually pretty good. The narrative was quite entertaining. When you say shipping with the packaging is expensive what are we talking about?
  7. I am no expert on boxes but I don't think they make the rep one in that colour. IIRC they are all black. Of course that is not to say that they may not have done so in the past. I think chances are good it is genuine. Looks like this is the animal you have: http://www.swx.com.sg/forum/showthread.php?24621 It will be interesting to see how you construct the insert. Good luck and keep us posted.
  8. Nice work J. Has come a long way since the proto.
  9. Impossible to tell from those pictures I am afraid. Need to be able to see the shock spring on the balance. For that the pictures need to be much closer, higher resolution and in focus Also, there is now a new super-clone available with all the old tells corrected so now it is almost impossible to tell.
  10. I couldn't agree more! He is a great guy and very generous.
  11. Wow! Truely amazing build. I am super jealous.
  12. Only problem I see with the "net to me" approach is that it is often used incorrectly. Sometimes it will be accompanied by other comments regarding fees or shipping such as "with shipping". Hence when I see that in the post I am not sure what their expectation is. So I still think it is a good idea to clarify when communicating regarding the sale. Typically that check box is not there when we send money. Out of at least 100 transactions I have only ever seen the option to pay the fees once. Oddly enough it was for a gift option. So it is not that we are choosing not to pay the fees actively. The is just no option to do so.
  13. Sorry, I guess I should have clarified the context under which I was describing. Which is sending money for goods. I think sneed summed up nicely, depends on a lot of factors. In the end I think it is important to clarify between the buyer and seller how any fees are to be handled.
  14. In the US and Canada the default is that the seller is hit with the fees. So when we go in to send money there is no means to accept paying the fees even if one wanted to. The only way to cover the fees as the buyer is to add it to the sum of the money sent. So having said all that it is usually up to the buyer and seller to hash out who is to pay the fees. Typically if the seller expects the fees to be covered they will say so in their sale post. If there is nothing to that effect then it is assumed that the seller will cover the fees. So your experience is in line with how it works over here in North America.
  15. That version of dial V3 is notorious for off center lume dots. Much like the V1 was. They are particularly noticeable because the base paint underneath is a circle outline unlike the V2 dial which uses a solid circle which helps hide off center dots. For a full understanding of the SOH have a look at the comparison linked in my sig below. In the end if you think it will bug you ask the dealer to get you a different one.
  16. Nice pick up Marty! The jubilee actually looks not too shabby.
  17. Sounds like the click is no longer functioning. Assuming it is a 21j it is the little silver nub you can see in the gap at the 6 o'clock position in this picture (just to the right of the screw). Depending on what's wrong with the click it could either be simple or difficult to fix. Generally speaking servicing a 21j is not worth it since new ones can be had for around $15. However, if you have access to someone that knows their way around a movement they might be able to sort it out for you. Good luck.
  18. Looks great Pete! A shame the bezel doesn't line up. However, I have had a slide rule bezel watch for 15 years and have NEVER used it once. Just nice decoration. So I guess just keep it in some random location and you will never notice Wear it well, she is a beauty!
  19. Hey Nanuq, what about it makes you feel that way? Just curious
  20. Looking good Z. I feel the same way about the home plate. In fact it also spurred me to buy the gen Heritage model Now I just have to free up some time to finish building my 7032. All the parts in hand but no opportunity to assemble
  21. You are correct in that the SOH needs a 24mm strap. When you see something written as 24x22mm it usually means that it tapers down from 24mm at the lugs to 22mm at the clasp. This is what you need. Enjoy shopping for your strap and your SOH.
  22. I concur with Red. Here is a picture of the two side by side. Quickest way to tell the Valjoux is the absence of the second jewel in the chronograph bridge.
  23. Nice job J. I would definitely agree wearable
  24. Looks really nice. I am partial to the older style expII but that one is pretty sharp. Wear it well.
  25. My wife sent this to me and I was cryin. Just had to share. Smart [censored] Signs
