  1. Woah! Gorgeous. That's all I can manage to say at the moment
  2. Hey. Any reason to buy new tools..... I'm sure your wife won't mind Interesting that it is not threaded. They probably just use a piece of equipment that is designed for the job. We do that at work for pressing in engine wrist pins and suspension member bushings. Temperature difference is a great way too. What if you used your oven to heat it up as opposed to a torch? Should be good even heat that way and easier to control the temperature. Meanwhile stick the tube in the freezer. Then they should just slide together nicely. Let them sit and good to go. How are the diameters relative to each other?
  3. I would say rep given the rough finish of the end link at the case. Also I thought on the gen 7750 the day and date do not change over at the same time as in the first picture.
  4. I wonder if helicoil makes one small enough to use for the tube. I suppose you could also make one if you were so inclined. Find a screw the right size and tap the case to match. Then bore and tap the center of the screw/bolt. Then cut off the desired length. Of course it is easy to say
  5. Awesome. Totally agree about the "blend" of that Daytona, very sharp. Nice job.
  6. Another for view new posts. It's funny the poll shows a closer split but the comments suggest almost a landslide for the view new posts option. Interesting
  7. I am going to have to go against my fellow Breitling enthusiasts. I like the look of this and I do think it has visual ties to the vintage Breitling chronos. I agree it does not carry any of the modern Breitling hallmarks but it does sill look Breitling to me. Here are a few examples of what I mean
  8. The video actually makes it look pretty cool. But I can`t imagine wearing it for longer than a day before the concept would wear off. Especially for the price
  9. Wow! For 1970 that one looks amazing. I wonder what it went for. I think all of the pieces so far in this thread are gorgeous. Of course my favorite is...well....
  10. Good deal if it is truly authentic. Can't tell from the posted pics however. Thanks for the heads up.
  11. Nice collection txc! No Breits though What kind of box is that you are using? Do you actually have 5 of the same?
  12. Like the sunburst effect. Nice shots.
  13. Unfortunately it is terminal. I can almost guarantee it will spread to all areas. Panerai, Breitling and yes....even Rolex. Once you accept it, its not so bad.
  14. Yup. Something like that When I saw the kickstarter post I thought it was a neat product idea and deserved some backing. Although in the end they really didn't need my contribution. I just thought the whole idea was pretty cool. So now one enroute and it's fate with me undecided. How does it feel on the wrist?
  15. Me too. Mine is enroute. Once in my hands I will make the call whether to get an ipod and keep it or just sell it.
  16. Looks pretty good for the price. Thanks for taking one for the team J. Looks like I could have saved myself a few grand
  17. What I find interesting is that most of the initial posts state that a franken is a franken. But then later on some defining boundaries or conditions are put on it. Isn't that the same as defining using names such as Super...Uber...Ultra Continuing to play devils advocate I can't say that a dial is a requisite to be called a franken either. Suppose you had a gen case, crown, tube, bracelet with a rep dial. I would say that would qualify too. No?
  18. Cool find phoband. That will look really cool all laid out with those. Now you just need to find some kind of cover or case to keep it all in. Maybe something like THIS. A little pricey but something like this would be awesome.
  19. Wow. Looks like they did a great job. Thanks for sharing.
