  1. Well today on my way home after a particularly horrendous day at work my wife calls me and tells me the basement carpet looks funny. I get her to go down and check it out and sure enough about 2 inches of water everywhere! !@#$%!!!!! Apparently the sump pump failed to come on and as result water is now everywhere. I walk her through manually overriding the switch to get the pump going. Success! At least further damage is avoided. I am sure you can guess what I spent my night doing. I just finished moving everything out of the basement into various other parts of the house (7 hours later). Fortunately many items were out of harms way, but some are goners for sure. I now have to spend my day tomorrow sorting through boxes in storage to try and salvage what I can. I called a cleanup company and they came over very quickly and started suctioning out as much water as they could. Now there are 7 blower units in my basement that force air under the carpet. Overall they did a great job so I am thankful for that. This totally sucks! Of course it could have been far worse but still sucks. Anyway, I feel better now having vented. Thanks for listening / reading.
  2. My friend who introduced me to the Breitling brand years ago has one of these. Very pretty. Overall a nice time piece.
  3. Awesome stuff. Here are a few in their after careers
  4. That's funny! Wonder how she got in there?
  5. Looks like a keeper to me. Nice start!
  6. Aaaah...the big reveal! Very nice hackR. Don't suppose this is the end of the SOSF journey is it
  7. Nothing so far. Couldn't bring myself to face the craziness of the malls around here. I plan on doing so web shopping his weekend.
  8. Nice work. Looks great. Very satisfying to complete a project yourself. Especially when the results look so Gooooooooooooood!
  9. Nice. Case shape really does throw back to the 70's. Very cool.
  10. Gorgeous! An often overlooked piece but truly stunning. Nice choice.
  11. My wifes fave is the Omega Constellation. Like this Runner up is a lady DJ with a black face. The above gets the most wrist time.
  12. It's even worse than that. As I stood there with the PO chrono on my wrist and the $7k tag hanging from it. I asked the salesman about correcting the misalignment. He looked at it then grabbed his catalog and showed me the picture. Then he said, and I quote "See. It's supposed to be like that." Unbelievable! For those in the Toronto area stay away from European Jewelery in Square One.
  13. Actually for me the bezel alignment is not so strange. Last year I was shopping at an AD and tried on some nice Omegas including a PO, PO Chrono, SMP Chrono, etc. Out of the seven I tried on 5 had bezel alignment issues (ie: not exactly at 12). So I wouldn't necessarily use that as a method to ID authenticity.
  14. Looks great. Some nice work in post processing of the pics, phone or not.
  15. Nice looking watch. Thanks for sharing your observations, useful for those looking at this model. So do you actually own both?
  16. I like it. What's so crappy about the font? Heritage no?
  17. Can't comment much on the regulator other that it looks nice. Soft spot for me these regulators. @Pete: Cool idea. Might help to raise funds in general for the site too.
  18. Opener is the best part. Here is an image for you. At a party with a bottle that you can't open...what to do? Here give it to me and I'll open it with my crotch Love it!!!
