Crazy for sure. I love at about 3:30 where he has to put one hand up to block the sun so he can see and is still careening up the mountain at insane speed. Nuts! No room for error in that race.
If you are going to go the route of the 928 try to find yourself an S4 (87~91). You will thank yourself. Out of the 928 family it is the most fun to drive and the best bang for your buck. There is the GTS model but I would think it would be hard to find. Wiki actually has some good info on the 928 model.
Wiki 928
One of my favorites for many years. Good luck with the search.
Slide rule alignment is usually an issue as well. Tough to tell on this one since, like always, the photos are taken with the slide rule twisted so you can't tell.
That's a BCE but I am afraid not a very good replication. For $85 I suppose it's pretty good for testing out the model but there are much better available from our trusted dealers, although at a cost. Interesting to see what else is out there in any case.
The most obvious V1 items are the battons at 12, 3 and 9. They have a convex surface where as the V2 are flat, like the gen. The lume dot circles are also indicative of the V1 but really are just a product of the dial print design where they seem to have fixed the alignment of the P and A. The appearance of the dial also looks V1 ie: the sunburst pattern in black. The V2 black is the continuous texture dial surface. So overall the dial looks to me like a V1 with the font alignment corrected. This of course is all based on the photo from BMWman in post #64. The photos in the listing on King's website definitely look like a V2. The dial, bezel and caseback are all correct. It will be interesting to see what you get. Post up some pics when you can so we can see if in fact the initial subject of this thread is still true.
Nope. That's no V2. I have seen this configuration lately...since the white/silver dial came out. Dare I say it is a V3. From what I can see it is a mix of the V1 and V2.
Case V1
Caseback V1
Bezel V1
Dial V1
Dial Markers V1
Dial Printing V2
Datewheel V2
Crown ??? My guess is V1
All in all still a lovely watch but it is not a true V2.
I've had the same experience with Omegas. Across several AD's I held 6 or 7 new PO, POC and SMPC. Of the lot only one had a bezel alignment correct at 12. When I asked the Salesman about correcting it he pulled out the catalogue and pointed to the picture then proceded to tell me it was supposed too be like that What a goof. $7k price tag on a POC and I am supposed to accept bezel misalignment....I don't think so.
First off, nice piece. Looks really good!
Second, what's with the secretive approach surrounding the dealer information? Dunno if it's just me but I thought the purpose of a forum, especially this community, was for information sharing.
Well that's what I thought too but the picture above is telling a different story. Not sure what to make of it. Only thing I can figure is that if the case clamps were not providing enough downward force (due to shape, space or what ever)then the stem might actually cause the above to occur. Dunno?
