  1. Seems like a pretty steep price for some M3 x 0.35 taps. Looking quickly I found these (although quality may be questionable) http://cgi.ebay.com/3mm-3-x-0-35-Metric-Tap-M3-x-0-35mm-Pitch-/12059822972 http://www.engineeringsupplies.co.uk/metric-fine-hand-carbon-steel-p-359.html
  2. Beware the minimum postage from Ofrei. Great place to get all things horological but their shipping fee seems a bit high sometimes IMHO.
  3. Looks like a 28xx series for sure. In fact in the photo you can see the ETA symbol under the balance wheel. That's not to say it's genuine but for sure it is 28xx model. Now whether it's 2824 or 2836 I can't say. Nor can I confirm it's genuine. Need better pics for that.
  4. Nice trio for sure. Gotta get me one of those 1655's.
  5. Nice looking dial. I can't judge if it is authentic or not but it looks good. Hey, didn't you just sell one of these
  6. Looks like a nice piece...really sporty styling. And you can't beat Casio for value and their history in good solid quartz watches. I also like to comparison you have done with a known piece to give us a sense of magnitude. Well done. Enjoy!
  7. "Case diameter 47 mm Titanium Very heavy watch" Hmmmm. Lume dots don't look so good either.
  8. That is amazing! 33hrs to boot. Very cool!
  9. Only one I remember seeing was Francisco's.
  10. Feedback system is good but sometimes you have those that will ransome their feedback. I have had that on the bay before where a seller will not leave feedback until I as the buyer do. Especially when a deal goes bad. What this does is devalue the feedback system since all that will remain is positive for everyone. And in the odd case where someone does leave neautral or negative feedback the other party may do the same out of spite (ransomed or not). So then someone who is actually a good trader may get falsely removed from the good list. Tough to police as an entirety. However, it is still noce to see a number attached to someone in terms of trading even if just a reference of volume, etc. So I guess after my tiatribe above I too would like a feedback system
  11. That is amazing! I can't even imagine how steady your hand needs to be to do that. The degree of sensitivity...surgeon level I would think. Very cool.
  12. Looks great! I really like the shape of the holes in the strap. A nice departure from the norm.
  13. Nice job. If not for the already bent foot it would look perfect.
  14. That is going to be the key. Right now it is no easy task to get just parts. A whole movement sure. Even now we gripe when the clone won't accept an ETA part. Funny how the tables may now turn.
  15. Way to go FDG! You just made every ploprof owners day!
  16. Not much more I can say that hasn't been said already. All the best to you in the rebuild of your life. So devastating to lose soo much. I hope you are able to make it "Better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster"
  17. Strap looks great. Cool bowl too
  18. Hello my fellow watch enthusiasts, I am sure many of you have visited the ETA website and have gone through the SWISSL@B assembly and disassembly of a movement. Well, I thought to myself, one day this may no longer be available. Especially given the direction ETA has taken recently. So I took it upon myself to create a stand alone document that captures this very useful data. Below are links to my renditions of the SWISSL@B tutorials for the 2892 and the 6497. These are pdf files where I have merged the technical spec sheets with images pulled from their tutorials and thrown in some visuals to help due to the lack of animation. Please have a look. Let me know what you think and enjoy! ETA 2892A2 ETA 6497 ETA 7750....coming soon The 7750 is in the works but I thought I would get feedback on these first. p.s. If anyone knows of a better file hosting site just let me know.
  19. Amazing work! I am curious to know about the process of making a tropic. Can you share any info or pictures of how it's done? Equipment used?
  20. Cool find. I thought this was an FM design. Learn something new every time I come on here. Interesting movement too. Looks hand made. Thanks Gran.
  21. Condolences C. Sorry to hear of such difficult times for you and your family. As you said, not something you would wish on your worst enemy. Best wishes.
  22. Looking good WG. As ByTor said, it's nice to see something different. What about something like this?
