  1. Guys,

I got these two new QC pictures.  I want to get your all's opinion, do you think the dial is a bit shifted upwards towards the 50 or 55 way point on the bezel.  The second marks on the dial look like they are touching that side of the case/bezel more than the 20 number on the bezel.  The dial and second markets near the beze at 20 looks like there is a gap, while on the opposite side (near 50 and 55 on the bezel it is touching).  is it just the angle or is it off center?

  2. Gents,

I'm going through the QC process with TW-Andrew.  The lume picture he sent seems OK, need to confirm the lume.

I send the following pictures to TW with the lines drawn in.  I provided the feedback you all gave, and he said that the bezel and dial are straight, and that the pictures are dead center.  I asked for a center picture, and he said he would not provide it.  Does all of this add up? Please help, I haven't done this sort of back and forth during the QC process, I don't want to be too demanding either.

  3. Guys,

I've been trying to figure out whether to get the PO v5 or the PO ceramic both in the 42mm version.

Overall which is a bette rep?  I heard the PO v5 is pretty solid, but that the metal casing is sometimes soft?   With the PO ceramic version I've read that the ceramic and lume bezel is a bit weak.

Can someone provide some feedback on which is a better buy if I am looking for the better rep of the two (as far as quality and least number of flaws).  I would apperciate also dealer leads.

    Cheers,

  4. Hi,

I sincerely feel that there was no hidden intentions of the thread starters in the topics you mentioned (yes i have seen them) to discredit, scare or confuse the rep collectors. I think that they were mostly voicing their concerns or experiences, and they are actual rep collectors themselves, with genuine concerns to share. If you do follow the topics and the posts listed within, you would find that members WOULD respond with similar concerns or share facts concerning the specific situation or concerns being discussed. I also think that the original posts themselves were factual as far as the individual thread starters were concerned.

After all, this is a place where such concerns and opinions should be voiced, and where worries and fears get allayed. ;)

Worry not, you're in the right place with the fight folks. lol

Oh I agree with you, there are many genuine posts and I have learned a lot from them. I just wonder if there are some covert postings to subvert the form. In the end I think the consistent replies from the members keeps all in check.

    Cheers

    Edit: forum not form heh.

  5. Hey all,

Been a member for several years, have learned a lot about watches, both gens and reps. Purchased a total of 5 reps thus far and have been needing to limit purchases to keep things under control heh.

In viewing the discussion postings it's come to thought that perhaps there are some members who are posting with a purpose of discrediting and confusing our hobby/purchases (eg "airport confiscations", "people calling them out for wearing a rep", etc). Sometimes these posts feel like they have a covert intention to scare us from purchasing etc. I'm thankful for the reassuring and correcting replies from the sage members.

Perhaps it's my paronid side coming out, but has anyone else noticed this pattern? I'm not calling for a witch hunt, perhaps the best way to handle these guys is by replying with factual info etc. Has anyone else seen subtle examples of what I'm describing?

    Cheers~

  6. In some cases I humbly (noobie here) argue gens should copy the reps. check out the Pam 390 that has been customized with a Titanium case (original has stainless steal case).

I don't think reps will never be 100% 1:1 ...it would upset the gen companies too much. Perhaps there is a thin line rep factories tread. I'll mention another conspiracy of mine - Reps are made by gen companies as a way to capture additional sales.

Anyway peace to all, really like this forum and the rep factories. Could never own this wrist art otherwise!! Cheers :)

  7. hey,

It was love at first sight when I saw the Ebel 1911 Discovery with brown leather strap (seen Spring 2009 weekly wrist check thread). Has anyone seen it? Does anyone own it?

I think it had the same watch color as the one pictured below but of course with the brown leather strap. Ever since the forum got a face lift I haven't been able to use the search feature as good as before.

Thanks in advance guys... help me find my second half heh :)
