  6. I purchased the rep Calibre 17 (non RS) and to be honest I was disappointed with it, but that was probably because of the dealer I got it from. There were some easy tells that I just didnt like. Any how what it did do was allow me to get a feel for it. Instead I went for an F1, totally different watch I know.
  7. welcome to the boards Im in Scotland too...its great on here, be prepared to have an empty wallet!!
  8. sweet, the show is right funny, thnks for the nudge!
  9. just getting into modding/repair, would be a great help to have confidence in tools rather than ebay crap. great gesture for this great forum.
  10. Hi there, I bought this watch with a known PR problem. But Im stumped as to how the movement is removed. Removing the 4 case screws wont make a differece as they are cosmetic aand the case has no split in it? I also know about the screw on the case back for removing the stem, but I just cant see how to remove the mvmt.... any ideas? thanks for reading
  11. this might seem like a tough call for you fella, after the condolences have passed all you have are the memories, they are yours forever. The gift however is merely a material possesion, albet with memories attached. I personally wouldnt want to part with it, but I agree with the earlier sentiment of rather than selling, pass it on to your friends family, but be careful, it might offend if they feel you are willing to give away such a gift. Im sure you will make the right decision for you, but make sure as it cant be replaced. take care dolph
  12. welcome, it appears there we have another addition to the UK contingents... I never really 'got' the panerais but someone was selling a 029gmt quite cheap so up it was snapped, even though its a 'cheapie' I can now see what members see in pams. welcome again from another UKer
  13. nice looker, well done for finding/modding/showing us that..
  14. I was going to suggest from presonal experience a box, but its already been suggested, I would take it seriously....it really frickin hurts... also a scarf of some sort for your neck as getting shot here might take you back to your schooldays as the resulting bruise looks like a lovebite (UK slang) or hickey? (US slang) and your other half wont let you forget it...again from experience and never never never lift your goggles. my bro went balling once nd watched a bloke snap his leg, he was running through the trees and his foot stepped over a log, but his knee was stopped from forward motion by another log....his momentum carried his body onward the scream could be heard for miles but have fun fella, get them before they get you...
  15. ok that was too easy... What is: The beginning of eternity The end of time and space The beginning of every end And the end of every place
  16. A Panda Bear walked into a resturant. He sat down at a table and ordered some food. When he was finished eating, he took out a gun and shot his waiter. He then left the resturant. After the police caught up with him, they asked him why he had killed the waiter. He replied, "Look me up in the dictionary." What did the dictionary say?
  17. I was the reciever of this watch and it was much appreciated that IYSK was straight up with me. If the watch ever turns up ( you never know with the postal strike) I will do the decent thing by him and give the money back straight away. However it is really soul destoying when packages dont turn up, I have lost two in succession now one from Canada and one from Italy, altough I rec'd the box on the second one it was empty...sticky fingered postman?! These examples (this thread and IYSK & my experiences) just show the good feeling on the forum between fellow members.

  20. in the UK we have a chain ofshops called TKMaxx who sell a variety of goods (clothing and housewares)but the clothes are like a jumble sale, but if you are prepared to go through the rails you can find many a bargain...
