  1. Hi there,

I bought this watch with a known PR problem.

But Im stumped as to how the movement is removed. Removing the 4 case screws wont make a differece as they are cosmetic aand the case has no split in it? I also know about the screw on the case back for removing the stem, but I just cant see how to remove the mvmt.... any ideas?

    thanks for reading

  2. this might seem like a tough call for you fella, after the condolences have passed all you have are the memories, they are yours forever. The gift however is merely a material possesion, albet with memories attached. I personally wouldnt want to part with it, but I agree with the earlier sentiment of rather than selling, pass it on to your friends family, but be careful, it might offend if they feel you are willing to give away such a gift.

Im sure you will make the right decision for you, but make sure as it cant be replaced.

    take care

  3. I was going to suggest from presonal experience a box, but its already been suggested, I would take it seriously....it really frickin hurts... also a scarf of some sort for your neck as getting shot here might take you back to your schooldays as the resulting bruise looks like a lovebite (UK slang) or hickey? (US slang) and your other half wont let you forget it...again from experience

and never never never lift your goggles.

my bro went balling once nd watched a bloke snap his leg, he was running through the trees and his foot stepped over a log, but his knee was stopped from forward motion by another log....his momentum carried his body onward the scream could be heard for miles

but have fun fella, get them before they get you...

  4. A Panda Bear walked into a resturant. He sat down at a table and ordered some food. When he was finished eating, he took out a gun and shot his waiter. He then left the resturant. After the police caught up with him, they asked him why he had killed the waiter. He replied, "Look me up in the dictionary."

    What did the dictionary say?

  5. shipping with tracking from Canada to UK costs $56, whereas without tracking costs $7. That's probably why the seller didn't want to ship outside Canada/Conus

I sold to a member in UK (I'm from Canada) and decided to go for no tracking, since with tracking was almost the cost of the watch itself. .

Well, the package never arrived.... Even though the terms of sale was explicit that buyer assumes all risks, I ended up returning half the money on the watch. I eventualy was out of pocket about $80US from the when I bought it from the dealer to the postage and the refund. I don't think I will ever sell outside Canada/Conus anymore.

I was the reciever of this watch and it was much appreciated that IYSK was straight up with me. If the watch ever turns up ( you never know with the postal strike) I will do the decent thing by him and give the money back straight away.

However it is really soul destoying when packages dont turn up, I have lost two in succession now one from Canada and one from Italy, altough I rec'd the box on the second one it was empty...sticky fingered postman?!

These examples (this thread and IYSK & my experiences) just show the good feeling on the forum between fellow members.

  6. Which movement are we talking about? You probably messed up the keyless works. The only solution is to remove the dial and hands and put the parts that moved back in place...

PS: Better ask mods to place this thread in the 'repair & upgrade' section. You will get more answers there.

    Thanks Rolexman

mods can this thread be moved please...

  7. I recently purchased an orange PO with a small problem. The problem was the second hand was making contact with the hour hand.

Sooo using tutorials I removed the back and then depressed the small pin to remove the crown. I used a toothpick to gently make sure the hands were sitting straight and flat then teased the second hand up to clear the hour hand.

I reassembled the watch (by replacing the crown whilst depressing the pin) now the crown will not click back in properly, so when I push the crown fully in (without screwing) I can still change the time. Also if i try to screw the crown in the watch stops but starts again if I unscrew the crown.

sorry for the essay but any ideas whats wrong? have I mashed the works??

    any help?
