  1. Most likely, the auto-wind module requires cleaning/oiling, as does the rest of the movement. The movements in rep watches are, for the most part, used &/or unserviced, so it is quite common to see problems out-of-the-box. Options are (in recommended order) contact the seller for instructions, have a local watchmaker overhaul the watch or, if you have the required tools/skills, fix it yourself.

Thank you for the suggestions freddy! :)

I've contacted the seller and I've sent it back for examination.

Another possible cause i have had in the past are loose movement retaining screws as they sit in the path of the rotor so if one is loose it will be stopping the rotation, what watch and movement is it, can you post a decent photo of the movement?

I'm sorry I forgot to take pics before I sent it back

Thank you for the info and knowledge shared guys. :)

  2. Hello guys,

I would like to ask for a big favor from anyone that lives in the USA.

I would like to get a bag and it can be found in the following site:

    http://www.provantage.com/everki-ekp117nbkct~7EVKI00R.htm

However, the postage to Australia costs US$90 which I find really expensive.

Therefore I would like to ask help from one of the members that lives in the USA to buy the bag and then send it to Australia via normal airmail which would be much more cost saving for me than buying directly from the site and get it delivered directly.

Please let me know via PM if you are willing to help me.

I will paypal you (for real) the money for the bag plus the shipping cost to your place and to Australia if you could help me (please PM me) and you have provided me the invoice for the bag plus the shipping cost to Australia.

I look forward to hear from someone..

    Many thanks,

    HN

  3. Hello guys,

I would like to know if anyone has ever experienced a time when the supposedly freely moving weight on your automatic watch just suddenly stopped moving?

It is happening to me now and the weight on my watch does not move. But after I gave it a little jerk, it moved slightly and then it stayed still again.

Does anyone knows why might it happen? Lack of lubrication? or any other reasons?

    Thanks in advance guys.

    Regards,

    Harry

  4. i am new on here and researching and doing lots of reading but just want to ask, as i'm a little lost on this point. The Rolex second hand, i have purchased a rep daytona, very nice, my friend has a rolex and side by side hardly any difference, i cant see any but am a novice apart from the second hand, Can you get rep rolexs where the second hands go round as smoothly as a original rolex. my rep is almost smooth but not like a real rolex. Also is "Swiss" 2836 ETA mean its smooth? im sure some can answer this question easily be interested to hear answers. theres a lot of talk about '6' and '9' movement ?

If the movement your watch has (I assume the second hand is at center) is running on 28,800 bph then it should have the same sweeping motion as a rolex watch.

Nevertheless, if it is the rep daytona you're talking about, there has been a problem (and still is) with the second had where it "jumps".

It's a known problem with the daytona rep sec @ 6.

    Hope it helps.

  6. A while ago one of my colleague noticed my DSSD and he asked me: "is that a sea dweller?", then I said: "yes, it is.", he replied: "hmmm.. it's looks different because I've got one as well", then I told him: "it's the deep sea version, slightly bigger than sea dweller", he replied again: "is it a new release?", I said:"2008." :p, he didn't say anything afterwards, so does that make me a liar?? :g: :g: :g:
