  1. Both are correct.... The cutout numbers are what is called a sandwich dial which is a feature of the later Panerais starting with G series... Pre G series had the numbers/markers applied on top of the dial... There are different styles of dials in the Pre Vendome, T dial, and vintage Panerais... you can read about these here: http://www.paneristi.com/archives/PreA_Pan..._A_Panerai.html
  2. Are you opening both sides of the clasp? My hands are much bigger than my wrist, but it fits over my hand fine... You must have some big hand:wrist ratio going on there
  3. Well, I am not *exactly* sure what they are... This is from the email description I received: I would like to believe that above is what it is, but everyone has their marketing spin and there's also a sucker born every minute... And the price goes along with the story... Sort of like Panerai watches To tell the truth, it doesn't seem like an extremely special strap per se, although the leather, work, and stitching is top notch.. The buckle is pretty average and is not the PVD or DLC I am used to: It is a nice color... it goes very well with the PVD PAMs... I am waiting for a PAM 026 from Davidsen, I hope the dial will be very nice with the T type patina. Another great strap that goes with these watches (maybe even better than this one) is the Europelli natural baseball strap... These are also thick and even much softer They're also $60-80 cheaper and will develop a beautiful patina in time. The Pre Vs will remain this color, probably for a very long time... Glad you guys like it!!
  4. You know... even if Invicta was to make a high quality watch with some design innovation built in, there would still be no way I would even consider buying another (yes, I pulled the trigger on a sub clone some years ago out of curiosity) unless they changed that horrible cheapo cheesy logo they have on the dial.... The line thickness is just way too thick ,for a small detailed item like that, and I believe it ruins every chance for the watch to even 'look' classy. I hope you've changed your mind and looked at more acceptable brands.
  5. Yes, the color is just right... But this is not a Dirk... It's a Panerai Pre V strap, the ones Dirk was made famous for and I believe what caused all the legal problems with E
  6. Please move this to Miss Understood, she may know about beat off problems
  7. Thanks V... It is a nice strap, but expensive as hell for what it is It was meant for these PVDs, but the funny thing is that the buckle is more of a galvanized look rather than PVD, it's shiny, unfinished, and pretty ordinary looking... I guess that's what we're paying for. I would say that the buckle I bought from you is better finish & quality
  8. LOL.... It's CARAZEE... it's KOOKY... The leather is really nice, and really thick, that's what I like about it... I may have a new keeper made in normal width as I've got mixed feelings about this 1/2" wide one. Otherwise the strap is great, and so is the price!
  9. And this special one came as well... This is a genuine Pre-Vendome Kodiak strap in cognac with galvanized/pvd logo buckle, so there's a piece of history here, hope you like it... I sure do!!
  10. Here's something wild & crazy... The Greg Stevens Crazy Horse via Quarks... Thank you, my friend Thick... as a brick Long... very long
  11. Good man, I will miss his somewhat crazy antics... but more his dedication to saving wildlife and the environment... What an ironic way to go He was a good man with a good heart, and totally dedicated to his cause and his family... He made mistakes just as the best of us have... I second godspeed Steve
  12. Don't do it... It may be a nice looking watch and all, but it will always have that Invicta stinkma about it. It's a wannabe brand that just hasn't made it yet but for a small cult following. They are *OK* watches, but surely not great watches, $1300 will buy you a great second hand, and sometimes a great new watch.
  13. Well written, and I agree 100%... We wait and wait for God knows how long for the deal to be done, while in the meantime, the other dealers do not sell that model (and other watches too) to those involved in the group buy.
  14. Looks like a 202 to me, but that's 47mm. I don't think there are 1950 style cases in 44 except for the 212, 213, 253, and those aren't subs. Where'd you get this book?
  15. Nice combo, looks really good!! I like the shark straps, and this jade green is a special color
  16. I only wish I could have one of these... g'night guys!!
  17. Better than sex (tonight anyway)
  18. That's fine by me... Survival of the fitest... It'll weed ALL the shitheads out... Anyone that sees the value in this place will cough up... the others will be left to wilt and ask someone else who has the best sub, buy it and screw. I don't think a lottery is good enough (but *maybe* it may pay the way)... It is still a voluntary contribution. I think if people are to have access to all this great information, they should pay for it... And I reckon it's worth 30-40/year easy, especially after all the great reps we get at a great price, and being pretty much protected from being scammed. The paying members here are carrying the non-paying, and that's the bottom line... It's starting to show at the top and I think it's time to either [censored] or get off the pot. Sorry to be so blunt, but that's just the way I put stuff
  19. Thanks for putting this down in real words Admin.... I hope that more people will decide to become RWG supporters... I think it should be mandatory paid memberships anyway, there's way too much good information here for it to be freely available to the cheapo masses.
  20. No beer in my office, but vodka is OK, Wyborowa Single Estate preferably
