  1. DAMN You'll need a Panerai wall clock for your wrist mate!!!
  2. Beautiful watches and impressive numbers!!! I think the daylights are one of the very finest pieces out there!! Wear them well!
  3. Nice strap V... Leather looks beautiful! You are getting much better from the first strap I saw you post
  4. YOUCH!!!
  5. It's a good idea if your interested in buying a gen, see what the second hand market is doing with that model/brand over on the Purists or Timezone forums... You can the guage the depreciation pretty well. Buying a mid range brand like Tag or Omega 'typically' (surely not always) will drop 30-40% off retail right out of the door, but you should at least get 30% off retail when you buy the watch. Panerai just don't discount at the AD anywhere, although you can sometimes find some backdoor/grey market ADs that you can get a little off the retail price. Check out the collectors area on Paneristi for prices... they vary greatly from one model to the next... the vintage, Pre-As, and Pre-Vs just keep going up by leaps and bounds.... It's just insane what the hype around this brand has done!
  6. ... sounds too good to be true. Notice for all the photos, the seconds at 12 are in the same position, if the watch was running, the seconds would have moved No one would be that desperate, hell, his AD would give him much more than that just as a trade, even if they don't do 2nd hand.
  7. And it adds character... As a side note, my tough as nails Sinn U1's clasp is scratched. Unfortunately, they didn't make it of the same material as the case and bezel, which haven't received any scratches whatsoever
  8. Damn! Finepics has my 029 and going to/has/whoknows where it is do my palp crown with a Jimmy CG and I can't reach him to hold until this happens!! If I'm lucky (or not), that hasn't been done yet.
  9. Great photos LP! That's it, I'm getting this one, can't wait any longer
  10. And another? I'd be happy to wait as long as it takes.
  11. I have the exact same problem with my 3717... Plus it stops after some time when the chrono is running. The Zigmeister's just confirmed receiving it When I contacted Eddie on these issues, he said to send it back to him for repair, but really, in the end, I want this one to be relumed and the edges polished to be not so sharp (ouch!), and The Zigmeister can do all that as well as fix the winding/stem/crown issues... He's a safe bet. It's sad to see these problems, but for 8-10% of the price of the gen, and the beauty of this watch, it's almost worth the money, even after getting it fixed.
  12. I'll take a PVD if iot will fit 7753 196
  13. The straps are 'OK', but like V says, you're better off buying better straps from BOB/Mac... I have a few of their boxes (10 strap each) though and they're good. I think I paid $10-$15 for each box
  14. I'd be interested in several I have a 196 (7753) 192 (lemania/venus/whatever it is 111 (apparently swiss 6497, but who knows these days) 029 (2893) Will also take some spares. Whatever you can supply to fit the above, let me know... or I'll buy watches to suit the crowns you can get LOL
  15. I'm with hank7502 on this one too... I put mine on a rhino strap. The U series Sinns are very tough:
  16. Yes, this is a keeper! Mine's over with The Zigmeister now Can't wait to get it back on my wrist!
  17. These are really good quality watches... Definitely built to last, no matter what you do with it! Don't need weights when diving LOL I see them just occasionally on TZ for sale in the 800-900 range, but people tend to keep these...
  18. Don't know about the screw locks on the pushers, but if that was true, it'd kinda suck... I have the gen SMP Pro (blue bond) and also had (stolen) the titanium chrono... They are like completely different watches although the face/bezel/design is pretty much the same, they wear very very different.
  19. I'm really starting to like this one:
  20. I've seen you mention the ap roo with gen dial and dd module. Are these really available? I'm seriously contemplating getting one if they are. Could you give me more info? I've tried to PM you but your inbox is full
  21. Typo... 29 is definitely 44mm. The 160 above it is correctly 40mm
  22. The PAM 029 is a 44mm GMT. The PAM 60 Flyback is a 40mm chrono but I haven't seen the 72/74 for sale anywhere... The subdial spacing on the 72 would be a problem and it would not be very unaccurate (zenith el premiro mvmnt). Like written above, there are no handwound base 40mm luminors availabler, at least that would be somewhat accurate. Again, your best bet for accuracy in a 40mm luminor case would be PAM 48/49 (white) or PAM 50/51 (black)
  23. I'm also culling my collection to watches that I will wear... Although I have a bunch of really nice pieces, I find that I just don't wear some... so I take that as they don't suit me. It's not like they're going to be worth much on the open market (well, maybe in 30 million years lol) I guess it's all boiled down to experience, and filtering through what really floats my boat.
  24. Closest 40mm to the 112 would be the 050-051, although it is automatic and has a date. The 50 comes on bracelet and the 51 on strap, or vice versa I bought the 049 for my wife and she loves it... it has the white dial as opposed to the black.
