What could he possibly do better?..... oh right.... 'half a lume dot'
All the rave about the ultimate BCE.. jeez.... it has more glaring faults than the Skyland. White dial: complete wrong colour, TTs: too light subs, slate grey: too dark, graphite: ... where to begin. Not even mentioning the date fonts and end-links. I owned almost all dial colours at some point so I know what I'm talking about.
What could he do better?
take a look:
here we see that the guilloche has been faithfully reproduced, however the dial colour has been sacrificed, this plus the inaccurate lume dots at 3 and 12 does not look like a winner to me
but to each his own
-
he got shifted from here after some unpleasantness
he operates on repgeek now,
he does a fair bit of rwg bashing whenever he can
-
Exactly where did he say that? He didn't! In fact PT stated that he had no idea what the differences would be.
true, but it wont hurt any members here to keep the fingers off the trigger until this one comes out
i really hope that this one is more going to be a bit more faithful, I'm underwhelmed by the current offering
-
Just a heads up guys,
Angus posted THIS on repgeek a few minutes ago,
basically it says that another maker will be bringing out the skyland soon which should be more faithful than the one that the twins are offering
this could have been mentioned before in this thread but with so many ego filled posts i must admit i skimmed though the pages
anyway, hope this give you prospective buyers food for thought

I will trade my new SSD for 50th Ann (Green) modded Rolex rep.... I paid $329 for the watch. Looking to get a watch of the same quality/value. repj

under 1.5k usd sounds reasonable,

-
looking good R,
it looks like with yours that the date window is not recessed in comparison with your SS model,
if they have brought the datewheel closer to the dial, i'll be all over this
-
Yeah... if you guys dont get this one.. I'll just give up.. retire away to some island
send us a post card when you get there
-
drive over it with your car,
the other tests are meaningless without the car test
ask Nanuq for instructions
-
just get
gen dial and bezel
gen rubber strap
k2222 ar coating
leave the rest
aesthetically perfect watch
-
I'll believe it when i see it tbh

Arg, just noticed that the 1 marker is cut-off and the 4 marker is IIII instead of IV. This complicates things....
why does the fact that the '4 marker' is IIII rather than IV bother you?
if someone handed you this Breuget you wouldnt complain:
or this one:

-
well the best are trained in Switzerland
-
to be honest i'd be surprised if you got that date font from pam111, but you never know
the OLD 7750 was unreliable,
the NEW 7750 is just fine, get it serviced if you want more security
-
try the heritage 46mm,
i was looking in the window of an AD and had to try it on
as its been said, this really wears smaller than 46,
go ahead and try it,
if you decide to buy, get it on the ocean racer strap.
-
ah, they missed putting the micro regulator on the movement
-
Inserts you ca find easily on ebay. Took my Andrew chrono to my local repair guy, who fixed it without using gen Omega parts. The whole job cost me $30.
the ebay ones are rubbish, bad pearl placement, incorrect blue colour
avoid
-
the gen costs fifty euro in any AD,
why would you buy a rep one?
-
pic taken yesterday, but this one still on the wrist today
-
send it back tbh,
for $600 the issues you describe are a bit much to deal with
Time To Kill still around?

i think its a good place for him, no one gets his sarcasm or obscure references to scottish or british culture, so he cant unleash that much
as you say, he'll be back here for sure, he loves a good argument
