  1. IMO, just keep the A7750. Just pinch the gen sweep and broach the subs. I just swapped out my gen 7750 from my Junghans day/date to my SM300 chrono and put the A7750 back in the Junghans. I used the day wheel from the gen and it fit right in and I swapped out the rotor so the Omega has the Omega rotor. They both keep good time and the Junghan hands (gen) fit on the A7750 with the a fore mentioned pinch/broach. All you really need is the Omega date wheel and the gen hands and you're good to go. My Black dial version has plenty of threads on the tube so I didn't even machine in a gen tube. The gen hands really improve the look as they are longer. I'll do a short review when I get some time in the next few weeks. Jim
  2. Smooth as butter with a distinct hummmmmm. Watches are art. If you want correct to the second time check your cell phone. Perhaps something like this R:
  3. Remember on the gen hands, the sub hands don't fit - if I remember you need to slightly broach them and the sweep in too big so a pinch is in order. The exact measurements are posted somewhere in the Omega area. I just finished a swap to a Swiss 7750 with hands, date wheel, etc. The A7750 went into a Junghans chrono. You'll love those gen hands as they are the correct length. You've got a super project under way!! Jim
  4. How about the pushers? What is wrong with the rehaute?
  5. I'm wondering if anyone has installed a Swiss 3 register chrono movement like the Lemania or older Landeron in a rep case. Getting a gen dial and hands is no problem and not that pricey. I have an old Lemania movement from a Tissot and would like to give it a try if anyone knows about the pusher spacing and depth. Thanks, Jim
  6. Those pics are making me really want one. I love the strap combination and the clasp. A great start to the addiction!!
  7. If you want to do it right buy a gen dial and an ETA on the Bay and you're good to go. I assume your case has the correct HE placement. Just say no to quartz........tic..........tic............tic...........tic.
  8. I can't recall seeing one on a 'Bond' bracelet. Do you have one? Mine's on the speedy right now. Thanks, Jim
  9. You could be right about the 72B. that being said I have a 72C, 724, and a 727, and that movement that David shows just looks plain "rough" compared with any of mine. Jim
  10. Andreww, You're right on point! Comparing them side by side (yup, I grabbed Ofrei's last one at the old price) the differences are subtle but clear. When I get it on I'll do a side by side of 42mm's since I have three, two of which are modded and now one with a gen dial. Jim
  11. R, Thanks for the comparison shots. Omega prices are going up so I think I'll pull the trigger on a gen. Jim
  12. As the owner of three 42mm PO reps I've always felt that the rep dials were very close. This seems to be backed up the detailed reviews as well. Recently, I had a close look at a gen in my local AD and noticed a couple of things besides the curly toes on the logo. The word PROFESSIONAL is much straighter on the gen than all of my reps. My rep dials have the word sloping lower to the end of the word. The font is clearer. Is this just me or do others agree? I haven't had the two side by side to pick apart. Jim
  13. Here's the RWG for Jags: http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/ Long live "whitworth"!
  14. Think I'll give one a try on my 5513. That fold over link has always looked cheap!
  15. Or, if you have the right friends: http://www.horomundi.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2318
  16. Thanks for a great read and wonderful pics. Now, it's tome to start the hunt for an early SM300 perhaps a 165.024 or ? Congrats on one beautiful PO!! Jim
  17. What you have is REAL 100% BS. Buy from the trusted dealers here only. Jim
  18. The watch seems to have the correct He placement just above the 10 marker which is correct. When the He marker is centered on the 10 it is a dead give away. You can change the hands for about $60 and the dial but you can't change an "off" case. Jim
  19. A great addition to the top row! Jim
