  1. Has anyone reviewed this watch yet? Apollo 40th
  2. IMO these are the "dress" diver watch and I think the polish adds a touch of class. Goes well with the martini and not the wet suit! Wear it well@ Jim
  3. Does the case have the date change button @ 10? I have the old skool case from River with DSN hands and a Lello wheel. The movement is a work horse and you can verify the movement with a photo. Jim
  4. Regarding the 25A, I have a 25B which is basically the same as the A series and the dial is matte and the rest of your list is correct.
  5. I couldn't resist it. Thanks for the link. I need to check TZ more often.
  6. K, Absolutely stunning work! I don't know how I missed this post in January. Jim
  7. It's your for $6,400: ATCGMT
  8. Simon, Get the Bestfit number for the 6497 and contact Jules Borel. I'm betting they will have it. If they don't PM me the number. I have three sources with a lot of old parts. Jim
  9. The Vac man just did 3 dials and hand sets for me and I couldn't be more pleased.
  10. Ubi's spot on - it's a gen from new parts. The case has a screw down crown but is not the way the original case was made. Here's what it looks like in the dark:
  11. Regarding boots; I wear mostly western as I was raised on a ranch but lately have enjoyed these Timberlands. The sizing is one size large but they are completely waterproof and fit like a glove.
  12. This is the one mod that is not even close to cost effective on this watch. That being said I've only bushed two and it took me just under three hours for each one. If you cut corners you'll end up with a crooked crown and probably a damp movement. My best advice is to think about how fragile the threads are when you get any screw down crown. Make sure they have a light coating of oil and just close until contact is made. Rotating slightly counterclockwise as you start also helps.
  13. Very old looking like the watch. Did you do anything to the case back? Jim
  14. It will be interesting to see if they solve the date issue.
  15. Well, it certainly looks like it was buried with the old soldier. Did you glue the strap on? It's a great piece of work!
  16. Top notch! What's the story on the crown? Jim
  17. It's nice to see understated elegance and no bling. Those boilermakers are just regular guys! He's been humble ever since the UW Huskies beat him in the 01 Rose Bowl.
  18. If you live near Detroit and need a simple bench just tell him you'll take it off his hands: Bench
  19. That's the current going price from the Swiss dealers. If you want one try O Frei for a quote.
  20. The attention to detail is clear in every way. Brilliant!! Jim
  21. This is why I requested that you install all of the hands in the correct order and then set the watch. That will determine if the GMT hand in on the proper shaft or if it is on the hour shaft. I'm holding a 2893 and a 2836 GMT hand and they are different diametres on my movements so unless you have a new movement style they won't work correctly. Jim
  22. I wanted you to make sure that they haven't changed the diametre. It appears that nothing has changed and you will need a DSN 2893 hand or a new complete set to get uniform lume. Jim
