  1. Really nice review Gran. My MBW is still my favorite watch. For me it will always be the the best of the best. The perfect watch in my opinion.
  2. Great review, and a nice watch...no matter what Dave 123 says. Wear it well.
  3. Seiko Black Monster is a great watch. A couple of hundred bucks...not a couple of thousand. Great dial, great functional bezel, AND the best lume of any watch in the world. Not only available with a really good rubber bracelet, but also has a really beautiful ss bracelet as well. Seadweller rep?... no thanks.
  4. OK, I am hollerin....beautiful stuff, let's see more.
  5. I own both of these watches. The Nautilus is the nicest rep I own. Period. The Aquanaut is one of my favorite daily beaters. The rubber strap makes it a super comfortable everyday piece. The new 2010 ss strap on the Aquanaut turns this dive watch into another look, and adds to its beauty. The Nautilus IS THE CLASSIC wrist watch of a lifetime. In a rep...get both. Cannot go wrong. GENTA designs rule!!!!
  6. Man oh man...those shoes are from another planet. I mean the shoe horn is as beautiful as the shoe itself. MONKS rule. In my dreams. NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Gen pam's, like the reps, were really popular say 5 years ago. Now days you see more sub's than any other watch on the guys who look like they can afford an expensive watch. AP and IWC are the cool deal these days....Gen or rep. Youth these days have way less dough than we did when we were youth's. Therefore less gens of all types...more garbage reps..of all types, especially Rolex's. 44mm watches are still popular, but I am amazed at the number of 50 mm watches - Mostly garbage, that I see on many young guns. My favorite daily beater watch is still the 41mm Omega Seamaster Pro, and the 41mm PP Aquanaut, and oh yea there would be that PP Nautilus Jumbo for dress up. All Genta - all classic's. But then there is no accounting for taste is there?
  8. Too bad about MBK's passing MBW is alive and VERY well. Makes me feel lucky to own these watches. The finest example IMO is the PPK Nautilus. Thank you Jesus thank you George.
  9. Thanks...great link. How about that Seiko Chrono T32...beautiful.
  10. Grail watches are truly in the eye of the beholder. Many of those folks coveting that perfect watch are Rolli folks, then many of the people are Panerai guys. True grail pieces are many of the many great swiss classics. For me there are really only a few. AP RO , and the PP Nautilus come to mind. But of course that is just me. Grail? What ever floats your boat I guess.
  11. It is all about what you are interested in...NOW. Of course that changes...often. For the most part I NEVER look at anything Panerai, Rolex..etc. For me I scan down the listings looking at categories...then look at author of the post. If neither interests me I pass it buy. My current love is AP. My list of most interesting members varies with the topic. Most recent posts works best, I suppose. But I won't read anything posted by 'Joe Jit Ball'. I liked it when we were listed according to what our # was. I used to be # 22. Now I am just some guy who joined in 2004. Oh well. Admin rules.
  12. I have owned my black monster for a few years now, have a custom rubber jubileee style bracelet for it, and wear it everytime I really snorkel or dive. Great watch, great design. I see over on PMWF that it was voted number one best watch for 2010. For a couple of hundred bucks, it beats the hell out of any diver reps. Wear it well.
  13. Thank you. Beautiful photos. Makes a body proud.
  14. Are there any members who have ordered and received the new AP RO Jumbo currently available? Are there any members who have ordered and received the currently available AP Scuba - Wempe Limited Edition? If so...opinions please?? Thanks.
  15. Bal Harbor. The most upscale shopping mall in the states. Beautiful watch shop on the street level. Anything you could possibly imagine.
  16. I'm not too big a fan of the rep ROO's, a bit too thick for my 6.75 wrist. But I love the jumbo AP RO. At a thin 9mm x 40 mm case, the classic Genta design is as nice a watch one could wear. The new gen 43mm Diver is a classic sport watch, and when the rep catches up with the gen design, it will be a great watch. The sleeper in the mix is the currently available rep of the Wempe Scuba. A limited edition gen of only 175 pieces. 40(+) mm and only 13mm thick on a rubber strap. A beautiful case and dial. AP is one of the most classic watches on the planet.
  17. Great pics. I have often stated here that my Aquanaut is my personal favorite daily beater. I too own the MBK Nautilus, and these two PP reps are as good as they get. Classic Genta designs. The Aquanaut is the most comfortable light weight watch I own. And if you like this watch with the rubber strap, take a look at this watch with the 2010 s/s band, turns this beater diver into a real masterpiece. Thanks for the nice photos.
  18. Without a doubt THE most significant Rep Rolli thread ever posted anywhere or anytime since I have been online. That would be 7 years. Between Ubi and Freddy there is more knowledge of the Rolex legacy than ANY information currently available on ANY gen forums. We are indeed fortunate to have members like these guys to learn from. Thank you, all.
