  1. One of my favorites, dluddy. Beautiful! 1016 for Monday:
  2. One of those rusty Romain Jeromes would work great. Or one of those vintagized-to-hell pocketwatch conversions from Ukraine.
  3. With the prices of V23s being what they are right now, I don't think they make financial sense as a compromise between a 7750 and a V72. Especially since the repair/service costs are similar.
  4. I'm pretty useless mechanically, so I let a watchsmith handle it. I can't call it an easy mod.
  5. This one. The description says white, but if it's like the old model, then the dial should be a silver sunburst.
  6. Wish I were there, PS! SM300 Sunday for me:
  7. Beautiful! Now this is HDR done properly!
  8. I find the brown bits more interesting than annoying, so that marker is staying where it is. I just wonder whether it's something that slipped through QC, or if the stain developed long after the dial was put together. Thanks for the input, guys! And thanks for the compliment, preacher! Lately, I've gotten used to seeing super-expensive yet rough-looking vintage sports dials. Recent DJ dials are cheap by comparison, and beautifully put together.
  9. I recently bought a swell linen DJ dial, which will most likely be stuffed and mounted in a franken within the next few months. The quality is great, but I noticed brown stains on the four o'clock index. It won't come off with Rodico, and it looks to be deeper than a surface blemish. The stain seems to go right through the metal marker, and appears on both sides. Has anyone encountered anything like this before? If so, any ideas on how to clean it off?
  10. Your best source for a black bezel is DW, who has them listed at $40 each. But do note that you will most likely need to enlarge the bezel's inner diameter to fit what looks to be genuine crystals on your Spinmaster Daytonas. I've received five bezels from DW (covering the three types he sells) and they've all been too tight for a real crystal to fit. Sanding off 0.3mm will do the trick.
  11. st4: Excellent! I'm a sucker for Bluminors! Coincidentally, a Speedmaster:
  12. Beautiful GMT, c! It makes me want to join the Pepsi People feelin' free!
  13. Some of you can see this joke coming from a mile away, but... Is it waterproof?
  14. Fantastic job on a beautiful watch, joerg. I hope it gives you good memories of your cousin.
  15. 026 sucking all the light around it, as usual:
  16. Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and their flagging careers return for "American Reunion"!
  17. Very promising! And even if all you ever produce is a 1016 dial with a minute track... I'm in!
  18. Great photos, slickdick. I never realized how thin the lugs were on the Poljot Daytona! It's been an ambition of some to squeeze a Valjoux 7736 into a Daytona case. But even if the mid-case were lathed until it was as thin as an aluminum can, I just don't think it would be physically possible. Then there's the problem of finding hands to fit, as the 7733 hand holes are a bit narrower than the V72's. Besides, 7736-powered chronographs aren't all that cheap and plentiful these days.
  19. Ditto. I don't like a lot of dings and scratches on the bezel, but if some paint comes off the engravings, that's just fine by me!
