  1. It's an Omega continuation:
  2. Ooh, a 'blimey'! Thanks, Pete!
  3. On the way down to Fribourg, you could make a detour to Bienne and go see the Omega Museum. But you'd better like Omegas...
  4. It's ridiculous, but some potential 7734 donors have sold for just $20-50 less than the cheapest Valjoux 72 chronos in recent months. And these were relative no-namers, not Heuers or any brand that might command a premium. I believe justasgood may have a 7032 assembly line starting up...
  5. I found the Heritage to be a very impressive hunk of metal up close. I especially appreciated the "3D-ness" of the dial, and the superb finish of the case. The knurled bits didn't bother me as they did when I first saw the Basel 2010 photos, nor did the lack of a cyclops. What I still couldn't overlook were the tiny subdial hands and the awkward-looking bracelet, though the NATO is a credible option. I really thought I would be buying one, but that was before DW came along with his low-cost and better-looking solution. I guess this is one confirmed case where reps did take away sales from gens! (I then spent the savings on child-labor sweatshops and various terrorist causes.)
  6. Very nice! I wish Yuki still carried their old stock of 5500 dials (not to mention their 1016s), but this looks great as-is!
  7. TeeJay, that looks excellent! THC is addictive! SM300 for Thursday:
  8. ...and all you wanna do is ride your bicycle? J, if there's anything you can do for the caseback on my 7032, I'd like to be next in line after C! I also had some bezel ideas, but I don't know if you can engrave a flared, round surface.
  9. Deja: As Milgauss noted, my 7032 still has the chronograph runner it came with i.e. part #8000 rather than #8000/3. To this day, I do not know what the difference is between the two (height?), but #8000/3 is the correct part for the 45-minute counters. The chrono on my watch runs, but the operation is not perfect. Whether that's due to the runner or to something else (I did drop it onto the sidewalk last October), I'm not sure. If anyone out there is selling #8000/3 and knows where to get one, please let me know. I think J. Borel carries it, based on a sales post I read a few months ago.
  10. Justasgood: If you happen to be 'enhancing' a bunch of 7032 casebacks, I want to be first in line! Cubeistan: I wouldn't call it my Grail (that would be a CK2915), but a c.321 would be... er, that shield that Indy found in Venice!
  11. Welcome, and don't forget to get your free T-shirt:
  12. Cubeistan: Beautiful! Is it a 321? It's also chrono day over here, with my strangely reliable DW 6239:
  13. Not only does the newer batch of Hanharts include the correct hands, white lume, domed crystal, and a matte-finish case, but I just discovered that the subdials are now (correctly) recessed, too. Very tempted to get another one. Unfortunately, the Junghans J88 rep seems to have disappeared.
  14. Also, I've yet to see a blue Luminor dial that looks as good as those produced by DSN. It's a shame, since there's room for improvement. I would love to see a fresh take on the 082, the 228, or the other one. (Damn memory failure...)
  15. "Quoth the Raven, 'What a shine!'"
  16. I honestly don't know. Your 7732 bears a greater resemblance to a Valjoux 234 than to a 7734, but it's hard to be certain about anything in pictures. The black 6239 dial looks great! I was worried about the clarity and contrast of the ROLEX COSMOGRAPH text, since it looks so gray and dingy in DW's pics. It looks much better in the sunlight.
  17. Even if it doesn't fit, that's a really nice Sears Tradition, donerix! (And of course, I'm eyeing the Tropic, too.)
  18. Unfortunately for you, it's a gen. Order one from Cousins before Omega jacks up the price again! "Omega-style" aftermarket mesh bracelets (i.e. the ones with springbars going through the links) only started to show up about a year ago, so I don't think there's a lot to choose from. Also, I don't know if you can buy the seatbelt-style clasp separately, or if it would even be cost-effective to do so.
  19. Your THC looks great, but that's not the most flattering photo of ol' Tom!
  20. Wonderful set, donerix, but you still owe me a closeup of that 6241 dial! Anyway, my contribution for this thread:
  21. For you, the living, this mesh was meant, too:
  22. I was very lucky to find this buckle for just a few dollars. Such a tiny piece of hardware, but what a nice improvement to the rear view!
  23. I love it on the brown croc, M! Omega got the basic look right with the resurrected Railmaster, but this is perfect for those who prefer Oysters. And, boy, does it look good in profile! I'm glad I was able to contribute to a terrific build. Wear it well, and age it naturally!
  24. Yeah, but... 18000bph is correct for the 1530 and 1560, both of which were found in the early 5512s. I really need to stock up on 2472s. You got me hooked on them after the Space-Dweller build!
  25. You dare question a piece that's been examined by Frank Panarelli--THE Frank J. Panarelli? Who the [censored] do you think you are? Come back when you've earned the title of Master Watchmaker...
