  1. Now I can see... WOW! I never rated the Yuki Daytona dials very highly before, but that's a terrific looking Big Red!
  2. Here you go, dizzy. The gen T21 pictured above is the last one in my spare parts drawer. I'm saving it for a Valjoux 72 build! Someday, someday...
  3. OK, so I'm at work, and all photos are firewalled... But this is ChiMan we're talking about, so I know it's all good!
  4. Now that's a mystery to ponder... Hint: Mickey isn't writing in Spanish to impress us!
  5. At the auction site and on VRM, the newer ones go for $200, while the 40 year-old domes are $250. If it's an open auction, you'll likely see winning bids between $100-120. However, there aren't too many being listed these days. A year ago, auctions could sometimes end with a $40 bid or less. If you're not so picky, I suggest Sternkreuz for the domed, and J&K for the edged crystals.
  6. It was taken at Milan's Duomo, which is the only cathedral I know that lets tourists walk on its roof. I shot this on the way up, nervously wondering if I was going to get a repeat of events from two weeks prior, when I dropped my Tudor 7032 onto the sidewalk in Bologna!
  7. Ronin: The Tiffany dial has a lot of commonalities with the old-school Yuki dial, but it's let down by two things: First, is that damned "Tiffany & Co.", in the wrong typeface. It more closely resembles those $90 reps from WE and Silix than any genuine example. Second are the minute markers that don't quite make it to the rehaut. jmb: I don't think you'd be the only one! While the print quality of the newer Luminova service dials is pretty crisp, the vintage dials are... less distinct. That said, the resolution of the Space-Dweller dial is higher than any gen I've ever seen. nomad89: The dial came from this Indonesian seller, who seems to have disappeared from eBay. Shame, since they also put out some of the best Sub, Explorer II, and PN Daytona dials I've ever seen on the aftermarket. And at fair prices, too.
  8. Not just the 6, but all the numerals are too far inboard and look as if they were lumed with Easy Cheese. That shot was taken the day I received the dial, and the day before I sent it back. Sadly, all of Yuki's Explorer dials (5500 and 1016) have taken a big step backwards since last year.
  9. Good ol' #3, its tritium unbothered by the effects of gravity!
  10. Gen, service (not mine, for comparison purposes only): Hont: Narikaa: MBW/MBK: "Bizarro Tiffany" (w-navi): Yuki Old: Yuki Current: "Space-Dweller" (ig44): Gen, 1970s vintage: Another 70s-vintage gen:
  11. Fantastic work, Dizzy! Congrats, and wear it well!
  12. If you can find one, the MBW/MBK 1016 is the best out-of-the-box rep available. I'm not sure if the dial is available separately, but I honestly think it's better than any of the 1016 dials that Yukiwatch sells right now. That's really quite depressing. Below that, the Trusty Time 1016 has a pretty good dial, let down somewhat by skinny hour markers and numerals.
  13. Before this thread closes... Big thumbs up for Justasgood's 5500 Explorer and Eton's GMT!
  14. Nice pair, ST4! Seamaster 300:
  15. I don't have any at the moment, but you'll want to get Submariner-size, shoulder-less springbars so that the ends protrude more. (It's the first item on this page at Ofrei.)
  16. Unfortunately, the $135 Yuki 7836 has been out of stock for a while, but it does look to be noticeably better than the $40-50 7836 found on the cartel 1655. The upside to the cheaper bracelet is that some examples may fit 2mm springbars, whereas the Yuki definitely takes 1.8mm, tops. Also note that a Tudor signed 7836 is wrong for this model, so stop looking at that way overpriced listing for the $988 bracelet!
  17. I like the super shiny subdials. They look like 3 LPs!
