  1. Fantastic work, lovely dial, and the reshaping improves the build immensely! My one tip would be to shorten the pivots of your springbars, so that they don't poke out of the holes and more closely resemble the gen #23-9293.
  2. I remembered this post today, and wanted to resurrect it in time for May 5. Thanks for the laugh, hambone!
  3. I've bought many items from them. Nothing but good experiences.
  4. I'm with alligoat. Lots of updated and mismatched bits, but I'm not convinced that this listing is a deception. Also, I just don't know enough about the particulars of the 6234. All of my reference materials begin with the 6238--similar, but not quite the same.
  5. janeto72's 6265 was easily worth more than double either of my Daytonas! The last time I saw a 6265 built so meticulously was... wiesn089's!
  6. Tudor handsets are incredibly rare, terribly expensive, and indistinguishable from TC's handset. Wish I'd had the TC option available to me when I was putting together one of my Explorers.
  7. Heart says Rolex Explorer, but head insists on Omega Speedmaster.
  8. It was great meeting all of you and having a chance to see your collections. And I thought Blackbar was some kind of continuation of Treadstone! I found myself looking at a lot of APs, which doesn't bode well for my future savings:
  9. How are you able to spot any of those details from those photos? There's roughly 4 pixels with which I can estimate canon pinion height!
  10. Same. I agree that he's no good, but there is no other world leader who is playing the classic "Great Power" game as well as Putin is. There are much fewer pieces on the Russian side chessboard than, say, at the end of the 70s, but he is making the most out of them. He also recognizes that the "world community" is a sham, and that there's no effective penalty for him flexing his muscles around the old Soviet Bloc. As for fears about the military-industrial complex... It's not always about you guys. Fly safe, Ezio. For your family, for Denmark, and for the rep-collecting community.
  11. I'm of the opposite mind regarding Cellini: I think Rolex did a spectacular job of reviving that old line, and of carving out a new high-end niche--without having to stick precious stones on every available surface. And despite the softer curves, I find that the Oyster Perpetual DNA is still evident on the cases. As for the sports models, the Pepsi GMT in white gold deserves all the scorn that it's getting. I don't think I've ever seen excitement turn to bitter disappointment so quickly. Blue-dial Milgauss? Would have looked much better without the green glass, in my opinion. The new Sea-Dweller is probably the best of the bunch, and I love how its design is less brutal than the Sub-C's. Regarding Tudor, I'm neutral toward the new Ranger, but love the look of the Blue Black Bay. I continue to eagerly await the blue Pelagos. Maybe next year?
  12. If I liked red and black that much, then I'd go with the cheaper option of a Ferrari-Panerai.
  13. Yes, but YOHOW! You Only Have One Wrist (Yeah, yeah... Two wrists, but do you really want to be Maradona?)
  14. "...and you'll find that you're in the rotogravure."
  15. I'm honored to have even glimpsed the parts that went into that build! I'm sure it will be a 10th to remember.
  16. I completely forgot to post the thread that I was referring to: http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php?t=175450 Mike: I've got one last exam to write on the 24th, and a paper to hand in by midday on the 25th. I'll be there!
  17. Some guys over on RWI are talking about a Toronto GTG on the evening of April 25, at Three Brewers Dundas. Anyone here attending?
  18. Glad to see you're doing REALLY well, ubi!
  19. P & Pug: Great to see a couple of old RWG hands in this thread! Thank you!
  20. Congratulations, B! Many more years and many more watches to come, I hope.
  21. Some of you (well, mostly 5♧!) have asked for new photos of this piece, sometimes known as "The Swedemaster" due to its origins. Similarly, I've long wanted to take new shots, but hesitated ever since I lost my old lighting setup. I still haven't replicated that, but that will be a side project for this summer. Here, then is my CK2915 as of today: The lume by Zig is still spectacular. Shame about his retirement! This big crown has doubled in price since last year: New Omegas (like the Cal.9300 Speedmasters and this year's Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial have bracelets that pay homage to the old polished/brushed/polished finish--by reversing it! The clasp is holding together well... ...While the Cal.321 movement remains a joy to look at: I still love this Speedmaster:
  22. I can't tell if that's a genuine 5500 Explorer dial or not, but the '3' looks good. If it is a genuine dial, then it could fetch a good price by itself. There are plenty of Air-King owners out there who would love to convert their pieces into Explorers, but very few 5500 Explorer dials actually get listed.
  23. Bingo. Insane today, prescient bargain tomorrow.
