  1. civic: THAT is a stunning SM300 with a ton of character! Glad I could help in some way!
  2. I was recently reading Panerai PR materials for the new titanium Mare Nostrum, which "celebrates the Royal Italian Navy's supremacy over the Mediterranean in 1942." (Not an exact quote, but words to that effect.) All I could think was, "Jeez, has it been that long since the swinging days of Mussolini that marketing flacks think it's good to shine a light on this period?" On the other hand, it's still easier to swallow than U-Boat's BS "heritage".
  3. Thanks! Caseback looks pretty good to me!
  4. Thanks for the review. I love blue-dialed watches, but the problem on most reps is that the shade of blue used is noticeably off. This is why I held off from buying the blue Blancpain FF, after being so excited about it. Could you post more detailed photos of the caseback?
  5. I was vacationing in Bologna a few years ago. While putting on my backpack, I snagged my 7032 on one of the loops, and swiftly discovered that one of the springbars wasn't fully seated. The watch flew off my wrist, somersaulted a couple of times, and struck the sidewalk on the edge of its 7mm Twinlock, before smacking its Cyclope 128 into the concrete. Other than some gouged metal and acrylic scratches, the worst damage was a dislodged subdial hand--later fixed by the great sssurfer's watchsmith in Rome. I, on the other hand, needed to be taken away by ambulance due to my stopped heart!
  6. Dammi, 508, you need to learn how to focus! The subdial shine in the first photo suggests that the concentric rings are there; there wouldn't be that vinyl LP look, otherwise. The weakest part, in my eyes, is the white printing on the subdials. Fonts/spacing looks off and the contrast could be a lot better. And that Singer imprint on the back shouldn't fool anyone! Overall, a pretty good dial for $61.
  7. Let's get Longines in here! I'm especially liking the Heritage Diver '67 and the Pulsometer.
  8. Thanks for putting this together. And I'll take that Silver Snoopy!
  9. I've been begging for this watch forever, but I'm not so sure about the shade of blue they used. I would have preferred a cooler hue. Let's see how it looks under the lights of the AD.
  10. I MUST have that Pearlmaster.
  11. I probably shouldn't be so pleased with a caseback, but I am: Now it's up to Jakub to make the definitive version!
  12. It's staggering to see how far the 1016 franken has come in the past few months. Fantastic work!
  13. Internals are a whole different kettle of fish from outward appearances, but I like the way you think!
  14. Looks good based on that one photo. Sadly, it's much more likely that someone would crack open a gen Camaro for its Valjoux 72, than for a Camaro franken to be built.
  15. I measure almost exactly 36mm without the crown. You don't include the crown when you measure case diameter.
  16. Dlf: Love that one! Curious if you were ever contacted by Mr. Ogilvie's relatives concerning that letter, like I was a few years ago. Pair of Hanharts:
  17. What are the colors? Different shades of brown? As far as I know, the gen only comes on a darker brown leather--not Assolutamente (no surprise there!), though the Asso does look pretty good on it.
  18. I'm sometimes tempted to go into my photo archives, and start a catalog of all the dial variants that were used on the 1016 during its production lifespan. But then I wonder if I'd have more fun cleaning the Augean Stables...
  19. FINALLY, someone bought this one! It's caught my eye since I first saw it pop up in Toro's new releases, but I was too chicken to be the first. I've liked this modern take of the straight-lugged "Wally Schirra" Speedy since it was released a few years back. I think I will make an order soon.
