  1. C, I hope you've stayed dry these past few months! Very excited to see that dial finally go to work!
  2. Superb! I've got a V72 saved for a future 6238 build. I'm fond of the silver dial, but I'm starting to see the appeal of the black Chronograph. Congrats, rolojack! (And who in the Philippines made those hands? Not the guy who refinishes dials, is it?)
  3. It's almost too close to call, but for domed crystals I prefer the Sternkreuz (i.e. the 'SK' that Ofrei sells) over the Clark. I've compared the two in the past.
  4. Should I be honored that Drummond Jewelers is stealing my photos for its listing? (321165848224)
  5. Lovely! My 16014 is currently serving as my incongruous cycling watch:
  6. Big improvement over Yuki's last batch, but 1680's got the main points covered.
  7. Loving the 1016 love today:
  8. Good luck, D! The headache will be worth it! I'm just glad I've never had a yearning for a modern Daytona...
  9. Not as good as your deal on pushers, but it was a better price than I've been seeing on VRM lately. And thanks!
  10. Cap: That 200th person? He's you!
  11. Yes, I am. The Ofreis are closest to what Mazzariol/Patrizzi refer to as Mark 3 pushers, and those are what I bought for my supposedly late-1970s Daytona.
  12. Small update. Last month, I sent my Daytona off to the ZMeister for a parts swap. For anyone who has ever wondered about the difference between Ofrei pushers and genuine (slightly used) units, take a look: That's the Ofrei pusher below. Yes, it's been knocked around a few times! There is a difference here, though it's not noticeable until you get in close. On the gen the edges are sharper and the grooves are deeper. Dimensionally, there are no deviations that I can discern. So is it worth the hundreds of dollars to upgrade to gen pushers? Eh... Sure.
  13. Because most second hands are just too damn small:
  14. Dive into my thread repository and check out the thread on my 6239 FAP. There you can read about the extensive reshaping that Justin did.
  15. Going on visuals alone, I would take a Mk.I Daytona over a Paul Newman. (Provided someone wrote me a check to cover the price difference!)
  16. Nicely done! Yes, there's room for improvement on the dial, but it looks much better than DW's initial attempts. If only there were still 6238 dials from the old 7750-powered cartel reps floating around. I'd love to see how they match up. A silver 6238 (with red chrono sweep, in honor of the Australian James Bond) has been a dream build of mine for several years. It's going to take a big chunk of cash, but I've got a V72 earmarked for it.
  17. See here. Great photos, and good information throughout. I never knew that the initial batch of 6239s had white (not silver) dials!
  18. Haven't started one of these in a while! Let's go with my "57" plus some bonus Cal.321 action:
  19. Thanks, cc33! And yes. I've only been a regular of his for less than a year, but I'm really going to miss Zig's services.
