  1. Spectacular, R. You keep finding new ways of raising the bar!
  2. The old Speedy gets a new, old clasp.
  3. UPDATE! It took a long search, a bit of cash, and one lost package, but I finally found the missing piece for my 1016. Can you see it? Can you see it now? Yes, I finally found a genuine domed Tropic 22 for my Explorer! As much as I love the shiny beveled edge of newer crystals on, say, a 6263 Daytona, I believe the dome better suits the character of the 1016. Plus, it's period-correct for 1969. Sadly, I was never able to find a suitable, aftermarket, domed T22, though I came very close with one from AF Switzerland. (The fit was perfect, but the optics were off. It made the dial look as if it were surrounded by a thick black gasket.) However, I have heard about some resourceful types out there who've been grinding the edges off Clark T22s, so there may still be hope for dome lovers.
  4. Be it ever so humble, there's no Tropic like domed:
  5. I know you're doing all of of this to win the approval of one guy in this thread...
  6. For three years I've been searching for one of these. And now you're mine:
  7. Well done, A! Fantastic work.
  8. Amazing. I can only imagine how it must have felt for you to crack open those blister packs!
  9. Thanks! The LLD doesn't get nearly as much wrist time as it deserves.
  10. I pity the seven fools who bid this past $1000.
  11. NDT's 1016 dials are very good. Based on the photos, they're as good as inGod's. My only reservation about them has been the price, so if ZK can deliver on his promise... go for it. I like NDT's Tiffany dial, though that maybe because I've already got slab serifs on two of my Explorers already. I wasn't sure if you were asking about NDT's 1016 case, but if you are, then I'll echo what 1680 said. I have not seen a good, aftermarket 1016 case anywhere. The NDT case looks terrible, and the Yuki 1016 case is no good, either.
  12. Link This looks... odd. Parts of it look right, but other bits seem off while also reminding me of questionable 1016 dials I've seen before. (Specifically, the crooked text on the upper half.) Thoughts?
  13. Back from a Zig service, and running beautifully:
  14. Yuki used to sell a very nice 5500 Explorer dial. Unfortunately, all of their current dials look terrible. Also unfortunately, I'm not sure who carries a better one. NDTrading has a $280 dial that is not only expensive, but isn't very convincing, either. And I don't believe I've ever spotted a gen 5500 Explorer dial in the wild.
