Sorry, F. Despite their reputation for being some of the most accurate Rolexes out if the box, I have a suspicion that the 14270s suffer from the same problems as other old, Datejust-based reps. I'm sure the crown can be replaced, but I wouldn't buy a crystal until I could measure the bezel diameters.

Wow! I haven't been this excited about an IWC rep in a long time! I really shouldn't be buying a new rep, but... I'll do it for the kids! EDIT: Saw the video, and that dial looks terrific--even better than it does in the PT listing. Just hit 'mute' to spare yourself the "Softcore" music!

I mentioned Schumacher earlier, and that RG Broad Arrow above is probably the most tasteful of his special editions from his time with Omega. Beautiful!

That's it! It's a quartz, of course, but you ARE going back in time to 1993... Here's an especially flattering shot of Senna's S/EL:

The ultimate early 90s watch for me would be a TAG-Heuer S/EL. It was the watch that young professionals HAD to have. Schumacher wore a two-tone back in his Benetton-Ford days, while Senna had the quirkier version on leather. Those blobby "S" links are hard to beat in terms of bling, and I can't think of a watch that's more representative of that era.

Excellent, excellent result, TH. I remember when I used to think these were "Old Man" watches, but now I see DJs for the extraordinarily classy timepieces that they are. ...or I got old.
