  1. Missed this thread! Wonderful pictures of a great watch.
  2. ...and I approve this message.
  3. Nice one, asf! Congrats!
  4. Sea-Gull ST-19 = Venus 175. No funny business. Tianjin Sea-Gull bought the rights to the Venus movement many years ago.
  5. I dream of chronos with a light brown strap..
  6. Yep, another Sub for Monday. The 5512, to be precise:
  7. Love the color of that tritium pearl, R! Back to the Speedy:
  8. I was looking through the auctions when I saw this in the description of a different Speedy Pro caseback: Proceed with caution!
  9. Patrizzi says that the later 6239s (1966 and later) had a straight-brushed caseback. Mazzariol shows a brushed caseback on his late-6239 example, but doesn't make a note of the finish. I think it might have been done after leaving the factory. In any event, you're safer with a polished back.
  10. A bit late to the Friday show:
  11. Expander bracelet and a relume (delume?) to make it look even more 2915ey! I was thinking about a FAP caseback for it, but honestly: Would you brick up that window? So if anyone has a nice 19mm folded-link Omega bracelet that they'd like to get rid of...
  12. A little bit more special than that...
  13. I'll give the Omega experts some time to spot the difference, though I will say that it's a work-in-progress!
  14. 1957: Good year... for the Russkies! But we got them in the end. Didn't we, Neil? (What the hell am I writing?)
  15. You may think of him as a friend, but I assure you that he's no mate of yours. Ignore everything else about your relationship; when it comes to the Daytona, he is your enemy. And as your enemy, he must be crushed. Sell your puny 7750 Daytona, and use the proceeds to bolster your V72 war chest. Make no mistake: This will be total war, and the more genuine parts you use, the more complete your victory will be. When you're done, post a picture of his remains and we'll celebrate.
  16. Tough crowd! Have you looked at the competition? The only other good 7750 dials I've seen are on Honpo Daytonas, and I don't know anyone who has bought one recently. (On the cartel's Sea-Gull Daytonas, the fonts and proportions are all wrong--and there are 72 minutes in one hour!) In my opinion, Akira's is the best standard Daytona dial that's ever been made for a 7750 movement. If you want something better, you'll have to move up to a V72-spec build.
  17. Congrats, and pace yourself! Collecting watches isn't a sprint... It's a marathon!
  18. Datejust: Explorers: Omegas: Daytonas:
  19. DW produced a small run of decent standard black and white 6263/5 dials for the 7750. Unfortunately, he also made a lot of terrible ones, too. In his current lineup, I think your best bet are his two albino dials. Both the 'Clapton' and the older one with the red 'Daytona' script are both nice. Here's my old DW 6263/7750 on the right. Very nice rendering of the ROLEX OYSTER COSMOGRAPH, compared to other aftermarket efforts. You can also see what I mean about the minute marks-to-rehaut gap:
  20. Re: Akira's comment: The biggest problem with DW's standard 7750 dials, in my opinion, has nothing to do with the actual difference between V72 and A7750 subdial spacings. It's the big gap between the ring of minute markers and the rehaut that makes the subdials look farther out than they already are. Meanwhile, the 'T SWISS T' gets squeezed between the hour totalizer and the 6 o'clock lume dot.
  21. Thanks, B! Omega bracelets are extremely tricky to find, compared to anything from Rolex. I've been on the lookout for an older, expanding-link 1035 or 1039, and it hasn't been easy.
  22. Terrific shots of the PO, iCoop! Omega for me, too:
  23. Gens. janeto72's list of ingredients for his 6263 build is staggering! The only decent-looking 571 rep endlinks I've seen are the ones on the cartel vintage Daytonas. That said, I've never examined them up close, so I have no idea how they would fit on a DW or Phong case. As for the bracelets, wiesn089 put together an excellent comparison.
