  1. There's no guarantee that 571 endlinks will fit your case perfectly, due to variations in lug dimensions and hole placements on the reps versus the gens. Most of the time, they need some light modification to fit. Afterward, they fit great. Not all folded-link bracelets have fixed endlinks. The detachable endlinks are denoted by a '2' instead of a '3' at the start of their reference number i.e. 257 vs. 357, 271 vs. 371. A 7835 bracelet with 257 or 357 endlinks should be a decent fit on most 6263 reps. Ideally, you would want a 7835 with 271 or 371 endlinks, but prepare to pay upward of $1000 for one. Then prepare to destroy all its value by trimming those rare endlinks to fit!
  2. Never gets old, and that new dial is terrific!
  3. Ditto to alligoat's comment. The only things that seem off are the dirty/overpolished crystal and the dial that appears to be too new for the listed serial number.
  4. Based on the handful of late-model 6263s I've seen? Pretty much indistinguishable. I raised a concern earlier that the Phong-Thin might have slimmer lugs than a gen. I would have to see them side-by-side, I think.
  5. Beautiful coloration. Congrats!
  6. I'm very late to this party, but... EXCELLENT! I love that amazing spider dial!
  7. All these Daytonas and me without! I do have a Valjoux 72, though:
  8. What I have in my notes for the gen-spec pushers is 0.25mm diameter with a 0.2mm thread pitch. Not sure about the crown tube.
  9. Swell-looking bunch of watches this Friday! Omega me:
  10. Actually, once I realized that Phong had gotten all those orders wrong, I felt a bit nostalgic for ol' DW.
  11. Back in April I ordered one chronograph sweep hand from Phong. I specifically ordered an all-black hand, to match my silver dial. A month later, I was pleased to discover that he'd sent two hands. Not long afterward, the 6263 mid-case I ordered generously included a handset. I thought that was nice of him, other than the fact that not one of the three sweep hands was all-black!
  12. Excellent dial, cc! The subdials give it a lot of character. Before you do anything to the case, I would suggest darkening the lume on the hands. It doesn't have to exactly match the dots on the dial, but it would give your 6265 a more cohesive look.
  13. This can't be stressed enough. If I had to pick out the flaws on one of Ubi's greatest creations... I wouldn't!
  14. That looks a lot like mine, cc33. Meatier lugs than chieftang's case, but insufficiently curvy along the lower edge.
  15. Per the investigations of Gimme and others, there are at least 3 different Phong 6263 cases available right now. Each one has a different midcase thickness and lug shape. (I think chief's is the thinnest of them.) None is identical to the gen case, in my opinion, but Phong gets much closer in many respects than DW or anyone else does. I do like the curvature of DW's cases, but not the thickness of the midsection.
  16. Daytona weekend continues:
  17. Ack... Genuine pushers! My one weakness!
  18. Well, then you can get a Speedmaster or a Submariner as suggested on the first page! As for Panerai, after the war the brand was frozen in an iceberg for forty years, only to be thawed out and resurrected by Sylvester Stallone in the 1990s. Seriously, the most you might find from Panerai in the 70s might be a depth gauge or a compass.
  19. Just to clarify: I haven't had an opportunity to compare Ofrei pushers with gen. I only made a reference to chieftang's recent post in his 6265 thread: For the record, I haven't had a problem with my Ofrei pushers (functionally or visually), but chief's comment piqued my interest.
  20. Wow, that Honpo 6239 is still one of my favorites on RWG! LLD for Friday:
