  1. To me, this speaks of ignorance, immaturity, and inexperience. Once a person takes a position, to think you are going to get them to reverse direction and "fess up" is just plain nutz - I wouldn't, you wouldn't, nobody would. I fail to see the point - and this "I just want to get one for myself" [censored] is an insult to everyone's intelligence. In other words - I am calling you out. You've taken a [censored] position, it won't stand scrutiny, but are you going to reverse direction, admit that your "I just wanted to know which [censored] purveyor of cheap garbage you bought that from so I could buy one for myself," nonsense is nothing more than airhead rhetoric? C'mon Dude - fess up - nobody familiar with this forum needs leads from some poor schmuck wearing a cheap fake that can be spotted across the room. Admit it - you just wanted to show off, embarass the poor bastard as a way to stroke your own ego, which is exactly why you are sharing this pitiful story with us here today. Sorry Dude, but I see nothing laudible about embarrassing some poor kid just because you can. This "calling people out" [censored] is incredibly childish. Bill
  2. Since the investigation of financial cases is what I do for a living, it is hard for me not to respond. Let me just say this - ignore what anyone tells you, consult with a professional financial advisor from an accredited firm. and don't even think about any of the silly garbage you see on the net. Bill
  3. In my line of work, people get [censored] off and powerless, pathetic [censored] off people do cowardly crap like this. That's why I carry no deductible on the vandalism part of my insurance. If that car is a silver metallic, DO NOT screw around with it. File the insurance claim and take it to the dealer, or whomever the insurance company offers as their guaranteed shop. It can be a real [censored] to match that. DO NOT let the insurance company low ball it and make you believe that your deductible will cover it. If they do, go to a BMW dealer and get their estimate. Just make sure, either way, you have it done by someone where you can take it back if the colors don't match, or fade differently over time. Bill
  4. Great Deals on EBay has them and they sometimes go real cheap - like less than $200 for the big one. Bill
  5. This particular epiphany came on in stages for me. First, I decided to reorganize and put my Rolexes in one box (using an O&W Chrono as a place holder for the SD I am wearing). Then I thought - "That's freakin nutz, why would anybody spend that much money on that many watches." That. of course, caused me to ponder, "How much have I spent on rep Rolexes anyway." Twenty watches at $250-300 a watch (and the bands/deployment clasps) must be $5000 to $6000. Then I realized, for about a thousand more, I could have had this instead: USED!!!!!! So, Would I rather have this: Or, this: PLUS Bugger'n by Uncle Rollie Such a deal Bill
  6. Go with the Perfect SD, pay to have it serviced (you'll never get it done cheaper) and you'll be good to go - or do like me and get one with a bracelt and one to put a sting ray band on! ; ) Bill
  7. Was the sub that failed a cheapie by any chance? Also, just to mention it, air trapped under the bezel can look like a leak. The best test is with the bezel removed. Bill
  8. I'll check the SD in my tester first since failure won't hurt the watch, but if it passes, and I would bet it will since they all have thus far, it will be my regular dive watch. I find myself wondering if this notion that reps are not water proof was started by the gen industry. Bill
  9. If it is something that will be ongoing useful, I will be happy to keep doing the tests on these things and publishing the pictorials, but it is really pretty damn frustrating to go to all the trouble to test so many of these and prove them to be waterproof, and then see posts taking it as a given that you cannot even swim in them. I'm going diving with this new Sea Dweller - just wait and see! Bill
  10. XJewelry - That would be Mr. Li. He screwed me a long time ago, but he apparently did not want one of my associates collecting my money at his front door (He is Chinese, but he lives in California.) Like most people, if you bust his balls, he'll play nice. Bill
  11. I apologize for starting a new thread when there is an existing thread on this topic, but having spent a lot of money on a waterproof tester, a small fortune on watches and many hours of my time testing them and posting pictorials, I do not wish to have my comments "lost in the sauce" of a thread that professes to have determined the exact opposite of what I found. At this point, I have bought watches from Eddie Lee, Ms. King and Joshua that have all tested to be perfectly waterproof - and I am not trying to be partisan. If any other dealer wants to send a watch or two (without band or bracelet) along with a return paid envelope, I'll test them gratis - DEALERS ONLY. Anyone who wants to invest a few minutes searching can pull up those results so I shall not repost them here. The notion that you cannot shower or swin with watches that test to 132 feet is competely ridiculous - I have been diving with my subs. Now, having said that, if you're buying $89 subs with expectations, you are nutz. Buu a first quality sub, PO, SMP, Pam Marina . . . and you can have faith in it. If it concerns you, take it to a watchmaker and have it tested. It could not cost much - it takes five mintes. Bill
  12. I hve posted a LOT of pictorials of waterproof tests. The subs, smp's, po's and pams have all done VERY well Bill
  13. Of course you are. Watch the boards and you'll see who really knows their stuff - Lord knows it isn't me - but one thing I do know, everybody is learning every day. Bill
  14. That's a real watch dude. Bill
  15. Happy Birthday - and if you'll send that chic in the avatar to negotiate, I'll send you a big check! Bill
  16. OMG - I cannot remember the last time I laughed til the tears came. That was fookin hilarious. Bill
  17. I don't have everything Josh sells with Rolex stamped on it, but I have all the subs. If you are working on a budget, his best sub is very nice and I think for those who are just looking for a nice sub, this is a hell of a deal for about $200. If you are going to wear it and keep it, I think the service package is worth the money - you will NEVER get the watch serviced cheaper. If you are really particular about the small stuff, the mods are a nice package. I will be wearing mine instead of the others as they are more accurate, BUT if you cannot afford that price difference, his new style sub should be enough to make you happy at a price anyone could afford. Bill
  18. There is no basis for a §1341 violation that I can see. Bill
  19. GOOOOD - I came back to give it some thought, and my wife is going to beat me if I don't stop buying watches. That was a hell of a deal for someone. The pics don't do this watch justice Bill
  20. That's what I thought. If others are being laid off, it would make it tough to argue. Bill
  21. Have you checked the law on that? I don't know, but you might find that an employer cannot fire you for jury service. If that is the law where you are, the employer could be leaving themselves open to some serious exposure. The clerk of courts office could probably tell you whether you can be fired for serving on a jury - just don't tell them you are being fired or they won't want to give you an answer. This sux. Bill
