  1. I do not know where these rumors get started, but for some reason, there has been some pretty wide spread supposition that Joe is doing the mod work for Joshua on the new subs he is offering. This thing going on with Joe, whatever it is has nothing to do with me. The only time I ever spoke to the man he was cordial and helpful. This is not intended as a negative comment towards him. I just want to say, as a matter of absolute fact, that this is not the case. First, I buy a LOT of watches from Joshua, and I believe that I was the first person he offered the mods/service to. I cannot say that I know from personal knowledge where this work is being done, but I do know what he told me, I have never known Joshua to be anything but candid, and it would be pointless to lie to me anyway. Second, I have been ordering my watches from Joshua with a service package for some time and it adds no more than a day or two to the time it takes to get my watches, and they come EMS from Joshua just as they always have. Third, the mods to case and bracelet take just a little longer; likeways, the watches come from Joshua via EMS just like every other one I ordered. I hope this clarifies any outstanding questions, issues or concerns. Bill
  2. 1) E-Mail Joshua at trinicon88@yahoo.com 2) Tell Joshua you want his new sub with new case and better crown guards 3) Tell Joshua you want it serviced before he sends it (assuming you do) 4) When Joshua replies with the price and paypal address 5) Go to www.PayPal.com and sign in 6) Send Joshua the price specified to the paypal address specified - Check "Goods," BUT DO NOT LIST 7) When Joshua sends you the tracking number, don't bother - the tracking system sux Wait patiently for two weeks - watch should be there in 7-10 days To be clear, DO NOT put anythng in Pay Pal indicating that you are buying watches, fake watches, counterfeits, Rolexes, or thermo-nuclear explosive devices. If for any reason the watch does not arrive in 10 days, be patient. NOBODY has ever accused him of not shipping, but EMS and Customs can delay things. If for any reason you are not happy with what you receive, do not post about the problem - e-mail Joshua and give him a chance to fix it. Remember, the dealers here do not make these watches. They are at the mercy of manufacturers who are not always reliable. Be patient. Bill
  3. I wish you had included annual income. I'd be curious to see whether it supports the notion that most rep buyers couldn't afford gens. Bill
  4. Seriously, I bought this in RG and it is a very, very nice watch. At that price, it's a steal. I wouldn't sell mine for $275 shipped. Bill
  5. The watch is a POS, but I sure give you credit for making that sow's ear look like a silk purse! Bill
  6. In defense of the post rather than search option, I happen to have that rose gold flip back Patek right here in front of me. I bought it from Joshua, and it is one of the nicest pieces in my collection. No amount of searching would have told him that as I don't think I have ever mentioned it. There is only one problem with the watch . . . it isn't for sale. Bill
  7. Once upon a time, Zodiac was the maker of the Sea Wolf which was an awesome watch. That would have been late 60's to early 70's I think. I wish I could have mine back restored like new. Bill
  8. I have a couple I think look pretty good. If I had to buy one, right now with dealers carrying what they do, and money was an issue, I would buy Joshua's new Sub for about $200 and pay him to service it before delivery. If you say "Sub" generically, I prefer the new Sea Dweller that Josh has with it's thicker case and deep rehaut, but that is a vintage design. He also carries the newer design Sea Dweller with the thinner case and hollow link band and I find myself using that as a daily wear. I really like this watch. It would be easy to think that the Sub has a better date function but having worn both a lot, I disagree. I find that even though the Sea Dweller has no cyclops, it is clearly legible and legible from any angle. King also has a very nice Sub with a nice mag/date, and a hollow link, nicely finished bracelet but hers is the older case style with bad crown guards and she doesn't offer the service option. Whatever you buy, having the watch pre-serviced is a good investment if it's something you intend to wear and keep. Bill
  9. My Rolex Explorer II GMT just arrived from Eddie Lee - 2893 movement. Running all day it is exactly keeping time to the second with the Internet atomic clock. Bill
  10. OK, for the benefit of those of us who have no clue . . . and we detective types suffer terribly without clues, WTF is a watch honpo? Am I gleaning from the comments thus far that we may be able to access heretofore unavailable product? Bill
  11. It may be that Ziggy can do this, but I wouldn't count on it. If this were readily doable, the option should be readily available - and it isn't. Joshua explained the problem to me once, but I cannot remember what he said. Still, from everything I read, Ziggy gets things done, so it may be possible for him. Bill
  12. I think if I was going to buy one (again) I would go with the serviced one Joshua is offering since the bad reports always seem to relate to lack of proper lubrication or some such service issue. I only have one Asian 7750 as I always go with Swiss if possible, and that one has been no problems at all - running in my watch box with occasional wear about six months. Bill
  13. You sound skeptical; would you like to make a bet? Shortly after I found RWG, and started buying from dealers here, I bought a Patek Philippe rep from a dealer that arrived missing a screw. I didn't buy this watch from Joshua as I shopped it around and beat his best price by $20 - although I will say that I had not dealt with any of the dealers here very much at that time. I notified the dealerI bought it from and was promised a replacement. This was no cheap rep - for about $300, I felt I should be able to wear it. To make a long story short, after months and months of promises, I was working up an order for several watches from Joshua and mentioned the problem I was having to him. He didn't sell me the watch, but he had me a replacement screw within the week. This was not an isolated incident. I have bought a lot of watches from him (dozens) and I have had problems, just as we all have problems, but I have yet to have a problem he didn't deal with right away. If Joshua says you will get a replacement case back, you will get a replacement case back. Bill
  14. Ohhhhhh, you sorry %%$#@!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here I was, wasting my Sunday night, spending money on rep watches I have no earthly business buying, and you have to go and introduce me to a $700 folder with a damascus blade. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Bill
  15. Look at the bright side - that could be a gen and you could be facing an argument with some snotty AD, followed by weeks of waiting, and a huge repair bill. Either fix it ot buy a new one and keep that one for spare parts. How old was the watch? Bill
  16. Well, it sure seems that you speak for the majority. I guess my folks were more of the "throw the bastard's tea in the river," kind of people. What ROLEX and the Swiss Cartel have done is illegal, the US government prosecuted them and they have forced them to consent to an order limiting their behavior -- not that the associated $750,000 fine is likely to stop them. Calls and letters from people encouraging the government to keep after them could mean something. Bill
  17. Roses are red Violets are blue I ain't no damn poet And neither are you. Bill
  18. Ahhhhhhh yes -- you're hearing me. That's why I don't pass mine off as a gen. I see it as you see it - <snicker> "Dude paid $5K for a $500 watch . . . yeah man, makes me just wanna prostrate myself before him!" If I was selling cars . . . let's just say we gonna play broke-back mountain and I'm gonna use me some spurs. Yaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Bill
  19. If the "you" is the same "you," in both cases, I agree, but some people are never going to be treated with respect no matter how much cash they can drop (real respect, not phoney, fawning bs) and some folks are going to be respected if they're dead broke. Bill
  20. I can give you my favorites Barbara Allen Mary of the Wild Moor Seven Spanish Angels Long Black Veil Of course, you have to be from hills and hollers to really appreciate this kind of music. I still can food - I have enough; soups, chili, stew, beans-n-hocks, chicken-n-dumplings, greens, tomatos . . . put up at any given time to feed my family for months. Considering that I've got 5 kids, that's saying something. Just one cupboard Bill
  21. Well, we all see things differently. I expect to be treated with respect by anybody I deal with. Otherwise, I'll just [censored] slap the bastard until his demeanor improves. Bill
  22. Did you really type that with a straight face?? Stevie may be blind, but he ain't deaf and nobody but noobs are that dumb. Stevie be singin' I pity the fool I said I pity the fool I pity the fool You know I pity the fool That falls in love with you Look at the people I know you're wondering What they're doing They're just standing there Watching you make a fool of me I pity the fool I said I pity the fool I pity the fool You know I pity the fool That falls in love with you Bill
