  1. heard a while back that the Chinese replicated a Ferrari...

hmmn I wonder how accurate and well made their rep cars would be, as safety and performance are paramount in cars and you would not normally need that level of reliability in a rep watch, except if using a rep Divers watch for diving.

On our way to dinner last nite, he pointed out many products FS...shoes, bags, electronics, you name it, everything which was for sale, was a copy! Their bloody cars are copies...Benz,Porsche,Rollers, anything at all which has "brand" generated sales is copied.

  2. that sounds 'complicated' and quite likely to f**k up.

late reply but if you haven't solved your problem yet:

you need to get access to the lever marked as "A" in the photo and adjust from there first.

(I'd recommend before you adjust the "A" level set the +-adjusting screw to its middle position...This will give you "space" to work while fine tuning later on...)

to do this u need to remove the winding rotor and its gear assembly underneath (1 screw for the rotor plus other 3 screws for the assembly under it...can't recall its name...).

Then you adjust the "A" lever till you get within +-10 secs / day or so. (just a slight move of the lever

    should do it).

From there you can fine tune it using the +- adjusting screw that you mentioned.

    Regards.

  3. who did you buy it from?

I recently bought a Seadweller Deepsea rep from a reputable seller on here, but after less than a full month of use, it's stopped. It was not subjected to any unual or extreme conditions, and the usual shake/wind/tap don't make any sort of change. I cannot hear anything rattling inside if I shake it.

I'm working with the seller right now, but I'm not sure if he'll be able to help me. If he can't, what might I try next?

    Thanks for any help!

  4. Has anyone managed to reduce this gap on the endlinks on their Ebel 1911 Discovery? :1a:

    Indeed,

The lower gap is there and the bracelet endlinks on that side "wiggle" a bit. There is no gap or a "wiggle" on the upper endlink fixation. Thats sits very tight.

It comes down to this: the bracelet endlinks are screwed TROUGH the case holes. On the upper EL's the threads (the tubes that have threads in them, and are part of the endlinks, pass trough the holes in the case) on the bracelet side are a "teeny weeny" bit shorter than the ones on the lower ones.

So the upper ones have a tight fit, while the lower ones don't. (it's a matter of machinig tolerances). One can easily fix this by "filing" down those threads so the screws will "press" the EL's to the case.. Nothing to bother though, as it's hardly visible while wearing it.

I had to do something else...

    Regards,

    Lewis.

Not "pissing" on your watch, just trying to point out the (possible) flaws for the members. I doubt it's a difficult fix though.

Here's a photo of Lewis' watch. The area that I'm referring to is surrounded with red. The gap is noticeably bigger on it. No gap on the other side though.

@Taka: Yep, the bracelet has small screws.

  5. can you elaborate, are you referring to the maxi dial? :p

There's another, big, immediate tell on the SSD (which I have and love, however): the dial is missing the thicker markers at 5, 10, 15... on the outer ring. Compare with a gen (or even your ordinary Sub rep, that has the proper markers) and you'll see what I mean. Great watch you have, however!
