  1. ^ yea, I had to reduce my rehaut for my 1665 too, using a drill press and a sanding attachment, works like a charm. ugh... so busy
  2. nice, I just got my case set from puretime and am modifying it myself too... btw just so you know, that's a 703 vintage crown.
  3. oh well, bit the bullet and bought the expensive tool. Figure I'm going to save on the taps
  4. well, I'm just concerned because the ends look different. btw, how do you use this tool? Old style:
  5. oh yea, on a side note, is there a difference between the tube tool for the old style and the new style or are they just trying to make money?
  6. nice. Good to see your projects coming along so fast. Gonna get my new pad tomorrow =D
  7. ^ but that's considering that you can predict which rolexes will be popular in the next 50 years. You can predict the potential buyers of such an item. For example, will the guys that are interested in vintage watches (1950s-1980s) rolexes be interested in this stuff? No. Then who?? the buyers of 1990s 16610 ; they're willing to spend (around 3k) which is about half of the price of a new mint 16610. Unlike vintage rolex watches, the new watches are mass produced and so it will never be as rare as the vintage watches or be as highly priced. Thus, you can reasonably predict that in about 20 years, the price of a used GMTII master will be around half the price of whatever GMT Master version rolex will come out with.
  8. Canada FTW!! wearin my wm9 as usual. Maybe it's time to bring out the NATO strap again
  9. well, it's a documented fact that these tropic crystals will develop cracks in the bottom over time, which will make it lose its waterproofness. even NOS super dome crystals have these problems so that's why superdomes are now just for looks only. link: http://www.network54.com/Forum/207593/message/1253996263/Here+is+the+lowdown+on+domed+crystals..fact+not+fiction..please+read.
  10. praetor sounds cool, it's also means a Roman General from a video game I used to play. My avatar is a baneling doll from Starcraft 2, a self exploding bug that happens to look cute when stuffed hahaa, a nice contrast.
  11. waiting to see the 1665 added to the family!! Then it's complete =D
  12. that's solid gold not SS. If you just notice the markings on the bezel. I don't see why it shouldn't exist seeing how the solid gold is mostly blingy stuff.
  13. http://cgi.ebay.com/Patek-Philippe-Complication-39701W-Watch-/120741482438?_trksid=p5197.m1374&_trkparms=algo%3DPI.WATCH%26otn%3D12%26po%3DLCA%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D949599145279266874 you're kidding me right? 3.5k? noobs
  14. lucky you for getting a 16000 case set cheap. I've been trying to source a caseback for my 1600 for a month and haven't found any for less than $100. One thing to note is that I found out that 1 16000 case back fits a 1601, but that was after I missed out the one that was sold on ebay for cheap =(. I think for a 1960s 1016, a 1601 is a better case though. Every single Rolex model I've seen in the early 60s have a thin mid case.
  15. my wm9 v2 is black under fluorescent lighting. I think the crystal plays a huge factor, more so than the colour of the actual dial. The lack of AR makes it any color it happens to reflect. see how in this shot, it reflects the background
  16. The back to work bill is passed!!!! FU NDP
  17.  The Daytona looks good in leather, oyster and jubilee.. what's next? NATO? I love how FAP is a pun for FAP (look it up in urban dictionary)
  18. god damn NDP!! Longest Filibuster in history of parliament when it's clear that negotiations are not going anywhere ever. The back to work bill is going to get passed anyways...what assholes. Just when I have four things in the mail *facepalm* I'm going to resent NDP for life.
  19. well, it makes it less likely to be targeted for theft =D. Normal ppl probably think it's worth around $200 ish
  20. so they finally fixed the date window? why can't they do that for the APROO?
  21. short answer: no long answer: never There are quartz minute repeaters for gen seiko or something but they suck. You might want to consider buying pocket watches that have the minute repeater function if you want to play around with the complication.
  22. sweet.. can I get a shot of the crown guards and the crown position? does a gen crystal fit?
  23. as long as the user is comfortable with it, it's not ridiculous in their mind. For example:
  24. Just buy a clark's crystal and remove the cyclops. Then buy a crystal press and swap it whenever you like.
  25. hmm it's one of those midsize seamaster dials no?
