  1. one of those impulse buys eh??? If you did have buyer's remorse, why didn't you fix it and re-sell it? P.S. good job on the mods
  2. The pic is a 7032 btw. here's another shot of it
  3. I kinda like the direction that Tudor is going though. Their Heritage Chronograph is amazing. It's based on one of the frankenssuper rare models that Rolex built.
  4. hmmm... so are you suggesting that Rolex stays perpetually nostalgic like Panerai? Business wise, I think Rolex is going in the right direction; moving towards products perceived to be of high quality, luxury and status, especially by those who aren't exactly Rolex enthusiasts. And their designs should reflect that. Rule #1: Make everything shiny. The ceramic bezel, the sapphire crystal, the white gold surrounds, the dial. There's a study somewhere that people are more likely to buy shinier things. Diamonds anyone? Source Rule #2: Make everything bigger. Bigger is better right? just following the trend. Rule #3: Make the watches heavier. Heavier = higher quality? solid midlink bracelets hehehe Rule #4: You don't talk about the Fight Club!!! hahaha It keeps vintage watches stay vintage and awesome tool watches =D. For me, the new rolexes are just vintage inspired with a bit of tool watch heritage and a lot of over engineering.
  5. I get logged out sometimes. But it's weird because when I do, I can still view the forum posts but need to relog to see the pictures.
  6. It's that time of the year again!! Time to take out the tourbograph and then switching to my patek 5004 for the evening April fools hahaha!!! :thumbsupsmileyanim:
  7. It's actually kinda sad that now we believe that anything that is not in-house is considered cheap and terrible because of ETA's dominance. In traditional Swiss watchmaking, it is actually common to rely on ebauches made by specialist companies. Even Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin used a Valjoux and Lemania ebauches for their chronographs until very recently. You might also be surprised that they have used, in the past, Piaget ebauches for their basic caliber movements. Wathcmaking was defined by the ability of a watchmaking house to finish/polish ebauches to complete movements. I would very much prefer that the in-house = higher quality marketing gimmick to go away, it's killing tradition...But such is life, ETA pretty much bought almost all ebauche making companies and asserted its dominance with cheaply designed movements during the quartz crisis. thx for reading my rant =D
  8. Link plz thanks =D...might buy one for kicks
  9. sold for 15.1 K. Someone's gonna have a lucky day
  10. http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-Comex-Submariner-5514_W0QQitemZ300537864713QQcategoryZ31387QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp5197.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D4%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7952934140349097080 At least it's only going for $13.4 k Reason: 1) Thick case 2) bezel shape and teeth is wrong 3) wokky rehaut 4) Insert doesn't fit properly. Also, in case you're wondering it's a 4 mill serial, which puts this watch at the early to mid 70s.
  11. new tudor advisor alarm =D tudor chrono daytona..meh
  12. post new stuff here :Jumpy: :Jumpy:
  13. I'll never buy rep jeans. I used to buy rep jeans 3 years ago and every time I wear it the fly becomes unzipped by itself. Clothing is mostly about fitting anyways, I advise you to stay away from rep jeans/pants. dress shirts are fine though.
  14. the un-attainable Ferrari 250 GTO
  15. right after my klipsch breaks; which is probably 4-5 months from now
  16. I tried buying the klipsch image S4. Disappointed. Although it is much better than the ipod speakers, the highs are really piercing, but the bass is good though. So yea.... depends on the QC. I'm going to go try westone now.
  17. hey Frank, What case did you use? That looks good for a 5513... Thanks
  18. Gen 5512 :Jumpy: :Jumpy:
  19. you mean this watch? now that I looked at the video, it's meh... The gen watch is not even going to be out in 6 months lol.
  20. 0.o? all subs have 20mm lug width except for the new ones lol, which I think, don't quote me on this, is 22mm.
  21. the really vintage ones are matte silver. The brushed silver is the service ones, at least that's what JoJo said. But if you're making one, I might want one! Stilty had the same project before, you might want to contact him for help.
  22. A vintage watch you can wear everyday. Now that's what's a Rolex is for, not to be stored in a safe somewhere! It looks perfect, of course, except for the dial and crown (period wise). where did you get the He valve? great project btw.
  23. well, it only takes 1 uranium atom lodged in your system to cause cancer. Those vintage panerais are more likely to cause cancer than some event in japan
  24. you can get these movements from other donor rolexes, which usually go around $1k
