  1. Hey Everybody, I've been hanging around the forum for almost a year now, and with the exception of my first purchase, a Tag Heuer Gulf Monaco (yeah it's not a great rep but its just so bloody cool) I haven't bought anything else. I recently traveled to cuba and brought an older watch with a thick leather strap, which was brutal in the heat. I figured I needed something a little more summertime, preferably something dive styled possibly on a rubber strap. Also, for a while I've been thinking of purchasing one good non-rep watch, something automatic that I would be able to use underwater, as I spend a lot of time in the water during the summer. Today, I was at a local watch dealers shop and saw what I believed to be a Seiko Monster, orange faced, on a rubber strap. I don't really know much about the Monster, but I tired it on and thought it was pretty cool and exactly what I needed for summer. Luckly, I was able to get 55% off the original price so I figured why not spend some cash on a good solid watch. When I got home I did a little research and found that its a Seiko SNM037 or "Land Monster," I have no idea if this is an official name or not. Anyway its pretty sweet I think, I'm sure opinions will be divided but for an everyday watch it seems pretty cool. The lume is ridiculous, it's pretty comfortable, seems quite well made, and even has a wacky internal compass that's moved via the 4 o'clock crown. Anyway here's some pictures for those interested...and some friends from Cuba.
  2. Process Automation Engineering student finishing my final semester. Can't decide whether to do a technical masters or MBA after this...or find a real job like everyone else. Haha.

  4. Hi Everyone, Let me start off by thanking this great community for all of the information and help that everyone provides. Recently a friend and I found RWG and began reading through the forum. We came across the Tag Heuer Monaco, and like everyone else, thought it was amazing. Although through further reading I found that there was no accurate rep of the watch, I decided to make it my first purcahse anyways due to its immense coolness. I purchased the watch from Trusty-Time, which was a painless procedure, and recieved the watch approximatly 5 days after the order was placed. Personally I think its pretty great for the price. The quality is terrific with a nice brushed Stainless Steel case, very clear crystal, and very cool orange stiched band. The clasp on the band is also very neat with super cool Tag engravings. The clasp mechanism itself works very well and can be adjusted for various wrist sizes. The movement is a quartz OS20 I believe ( please correct me if I am wrong) and while it doesn't have the sophisticated smoothness of an automatic, it functions perfectly fine. The chronograph also works well with start/stop activated by the top pusher and reset activated by the bottom. One thing that did surprise me, being new to this, was the lack of a running seconds hand during regular time-keeping. But it makes sense since the chronograph doesn't have a seperate seconds sub-dial, so the second hand only runs during chronograph operation. Overall its pretty sweet; cool case, colourful dial and band, and very well put together. I'm deffinitly happy with this purchase and being a university student the price was right. My future purchases will definitely be some of the recommended watches from the site, so I'll probably be asking lots of questions. Anyway here are some pictures, I'm rubbish with a camera so please forgive me, and thanks again for all the help RWG! EDIT: I can't seem to post the pictures right now. If anyone could let me know how to post in-line images that would be great. I do have a bunch of pictures that I will post asap, if anyone wants them sooner please just PM me. Thanks! Kevin
