Hi all, I'll write this publicly. Aside from the delivery time which was due to our crazy weather, I have to say that all communications with PrDubis have been nice and friendly. Yes, I'm a bit dissapointed about the AR on the Milgauss, but perhaps I shot from the hip a little on my PM to him in hindsight!! The watch was actually really good value! But Dubis, I'll PM you. I'd deal with again, put it that way - just not when it's snowing!!! :)

  2. Hi All,

I wonder if you can help? I am intrigued by the methods used to test if a crystal is Sapphire or not. I have found posts about tapping the crystal, placing water drops, scratching with a screwdriver  and scratching with glass. My question is: If you place a drop of water on the surface, what exactly are you looking for to confirm it is Sapphire? What are you looking for with a tap?

I'm not overly keen on the scratching technique as I have read stories of 'explosions'!!

I'd appreciate any advice you may be able to put my way.

    Thanks,

    Mike.

  3. I took that more as a comment on the dealers using the wrong forum I guess. I've bought aa Milgauss that he bought from Eurotimez in October or something, pics show wear consistent with this, a bit worried about this now due to the time involved, I could've driven to France a collected it quicker, even with the snow.

  4. Hi All,

I am considering getting the old man a rep for xmas. Currently he has a Gen Omega Seamaster from about 1986 which is incredibly thin (it has a Quartz movement). I think it is Aqua Terra or something along those lines as it is quite dressy.

Anyway, my issue is that he finds bulkier watches uncomfortable and so I wanted to know what you guys thought would be a good rep for him... it has to be thin!! My knowledge outside of 'what I would like' is pretty limited so any thoughts would be most welcome.

    Cheers!! :drinks:

  5. Hi Guys,

I absolutely love this watch, it's clean and relatively simple and the rep I bought from Precious Time is fantastic, the bracelet has a great finish and everything....however....

In the centre of the crystal there is a small pale hair, barely noticeable at about 4mm long and I just know it is going to do my head in :bangin: . Any ideas? I'm no way experienced in stripping these down so the simpler the better....

Pics to follow when I have a chance.

    Mike
