Dude, as jkay mentioned elsewhere, i think your expectations are a little higher than they should be. No, a watchsmith wont install the parts as part of the service. This would incur extra labor costs. And a proper service should cost more than 50 quid anyway, I would be very surprised if you're getting full tear down service for 50.

Nice one MJ. Nearly Tuesday and only one post? Time to ante-up. Wore this KL street rep that's now sold by the cartel for giggles today.

Thanks Dluddy. very much appreciated. So, it appears to wear big for a 41mm... Would you agree?

Hi, I'm considering buying a gen older (slevin style) Aquatimer Chrono. Thing is, i will have to buy it sight unseen. I've tried to see it in the flesh but because the style was discontinued in '09, none of my local AD's have one, so i can't try it on first. Is there anyone who can please take a nice straight-on pic of one - gen or rep, beside an Omega speedy or on a 7.5" wrist? Trying to guage how big it wears. Thanks if you can help

Best luminescant watch you've ever seen?
mastrmindalliance replied to naeems's topic in General Discussion
Too easy, any Seiko using Lumibright (yes, they are brighter than gen Omegas - which would be #2 on this list). No tricks, no PSD, not even deliberately charged. This photo taken midday in Sunny Queensland. -
I'll take two at that price, no make it three. I'm not joking.

Nevermind, I'm sure you have bigger fish to fry ATM. Upgraded anyway.

Not really. Not for EMS. Its about the same from Aus to SG for the equivalent. Edit to say: Yes I do think it's too expensive. But it is about the going rate.

Hi, would like to go from VIP to Platinum as well. I have the same problem. Would have PM'd you but getting this on all PM's ATM:

How good are Narikaa's UPO Rubber straps?

I can't tell you where to buy the best (except at the AD of course) but i can tell you from experience that there are two types in the rep world and another option as well. There's the lower end ones , which are very soft and come away from the lugs if worn tightly (about $20-30), and the better ones, with more accurate colour (at least in the orange version) with better etching and painting on the clasp and are nice and firm ($70-80). Then there are the unbranded ones which run $20-35 @ Ebay and etc. They are the same qual as the cheaper rep ones but come in all different colours. I'm sure all dealers can access both types of branded rep ones but for example Josh at perfect clones sells the better ones for $68. Edit: Thread merge? This is not the thread I replied to. No offense to Narikaa - who is a great dealer! -
I suggest you check out the Sinn's. Very cool stylings. Awesomely replicated (one of the best). I love my PVD U1.

Yep, they are bomb proof! The orange keeps +1 second a day. The black... Not sure yet.

Welcoming a new monster. These things are like Pringles.

yep, Modern Omega QC is hit an miss. I've seen PO's with crooked bezel inserts and PP's with really poor finishing with my own eyes. I've seen posts of gen watches with PP CG put on backwards! BTW, I was told by an AD (Watches of Switzerland) that they _may_ have discontinued the 40mm speedy date after mentioning this

I've read that the factory supplies the images to the dealers. I'm sure image theft goes on, but sometimes it's just because dealers are using supplied images rather than taking their own. Think of them as 'stock' product images.

I have a review of this watch which i can dig out if you like. From memory they call it "the compass".

Short review on my brand new SOH chrono v2
mastrmindalliance replied to cougaree's topic in The Breitling Area
I'm following your SOH posts around hehe. Can you explain a little more what you mean by the bezel marker is tilted? My SOHv2 is in my top 3 reps and I'm thinking the SOHC should be my next purchase... Thanks! -
You know, i think it's funny this should come up here. I was discussing this with an American friend just last night. Take the word [censored] (p!ss for those who cant see it). Regardless of what you've heard about Australians being the champion swearers (people who curse) of the universe. This word is actually a swear word here, but isn't really considered so over there. We use it slightly differently. If we're talking about being annoyed, we don't say "i'm p!ssed", we say "I'm p!ssed off". If we were to say "i'm p!ssed" it means "i'm drunk". Like p!ss - [censored] (w@nker if it's censored), is a term that can be highly offensive here, in our nation of champion swearers. It's a word that has been appropriated very recently by Americans yet seemingly holds no negative connotations. While it can be used as a term of endearment here (even the C word can used as term of term of endearment here), beleive me, if you say it to the wrong person, or with the wrong inflection... you will find yourself in a lot of trouble. Just a couple of examples of words considered much more of a swear here, than it is there. The opposite is true with the word damn. We don't consider this a swear word at all. Because traditionally, it's only been used in the literal sense in our version of the language. So, it's not a swear at all, say... to my grandma, but I'm pretty sure it would be to your American grandmother. The worse ass Vs ar$e is somewhat common ground. While sure, ar$es aren't donkey's, the word is practically interchangeable like Mum and Mom. I doubt you'd find an Australian, kiwi, or brit who'd be offended by the word. So come on, how about releasing the word from the censored list? It's not that i love to use the word, but not being able to use it is much more offensive than the word. It's like censoring 'mum' because it's not the American spelling.
-
I'm no prude, but to be 'allowed' to swear or not isn't an issue. In fact, with being a mod elsewhere i believe flaming becomes more intense when swearing is involved. It's just the Ar$e thing that bothers me... It's Americentric.
-
[censored] funny. You're a [censored] funny [censored] KB. Now, which [censored], do i need to mother[censored]ing speak to to get this [censored] sorted. [censored]

The only thing that bothers me is ass Vs ar$e. It means the same thing people. It's like Mum and mom.

New version Bracelet - Not doing it for me !
mastrmindalliance replied to PeteM's topic in The Panerai Area
I like the newer one. I like the old one too but i think i prefer the new one in style. I don't mind a bit a of bling but i think the older style's blingyness contrasts with the design ethic of subtle but bold Pams. The never style bracelet i have is probably the best rep bracelet i own quality wise. It feels gen (not that that i know what the gen actually actually feels like). Its just solid and smooth - you know? The part i want to add to this discussion is actually about the older style bracelets and build quality. One of my first reps was 113 with an incorrect 24/24 bracelet. i have a newer 24/22 that came with the pam 220 ult. it's better in many ways but i don't like to wear it, in fact i haven't worn it - swapping it out for the older, less accurate one. Becuase its lighter and feels solid, there is more give and curve between links. design wise, i think the new style suits the pam design ethic much better. the bracelt doesn't over power the watch. -
