Mine's 40mm (the gen) excluding crown. I think there was a 'reduced' as well for the Japanese at 38 or 39mm. Not a hundred percent if that's actually a moonwatch though. It's the one with the short 6 hour marker like the rep.

I got into it by accident. Stumbled across this forum seeking to find out more info about Swiss gen i own (after no help at WUS). Didn't even know it was a rep forum at first. My eyes widened as i read more. Like a N00b right of passage i decided to buy the famous n00bmariner for very little money. Got addicted. The rest is is unfolding history. Oh, and I own many gens. Edit; didn't answer the question: i like collecting reps because they are like a dress rehearsal. I find it also broadens my taste.

Well, don't really want to p!ss on anyone's sales. Just wondering other sources of homages really. I know of a few for the MM stuff and am led to believe that Tat takes a little more care in the construction than others. Perhaps there is some non-MM stuff out there?

Hi! I like pam homages. I have three all from Getat, all customed. The most basic custom I have is Superlume so two of them are pretty highly customed. The reason for the post is; I've seen some homages here for sale in the hundreds of dollars that appear to be the same as mine, only much more expensive (like triple tat's asking price but second hand). So I figure I'm missing something... Where do these expensive homages come from and why are they better than Getat's? I'm not being cheeky, i really want to know.

It looks to me like these are new bracelets too... Seem thicker (front to back - not width) than the last generation. Can anyone confirm this?

got to agree with that sentiment... I'm not anti bling at all - but it _really_ doesn't work with Panerai. ^^Yuk

Hi, the pusher needs a little u-shaped washer ring thing (forget the correct term, it's on the tip of my tongue... doh) attached to it from inside the case. It goes around that groove you can see on the pusher stem. It's probably loose inside the case - look closely and carefully they are very small.

I've been thinking about how to fix the flaws on both and with the present options i think this would make for the best rep-franken DSSD possible. How to make the "perfect" DSSD: • buy both the Ult (noob) and the trevor V5 • remove the bezel insert from the Ult, clean off the sticky and glue it back in so it sits lower. • Have the trevor dial relumed and put it in the Ult (with a relumed pearl of course) • get a clasp with better thumbnail definition, (maybe from a 316f sub?) For my eyes, that would be as good as it gets ATM.

Indeed, and if read from the perspective that is clearly highlighted in the article (bigotry, racial fear); it's more an accurate reflector of one of the sentiments presented. The reader could take another vista here. Much like viewing crime memorabilia in a museum, the statement is offensive but factual nonetheless. My problem with it isn't actually personal. Only the PVD is incorrect. It says "u black' instead of U1 as it should. The non PVD caseback is fine. Though I own the pvd and love it. An awesome rep, even with this flaw.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the best (cartel - so excluding wm9) reps OOB are the SOHV2 and the Ploprof Ult. They are the most accurate to gen reps I own, more so, IMHO, than the UPO.

I think the biggest tell for me on this version is the way the endlinks aren't proud of the lugs like they should be. The Crownguards don't bother me that much. While i've really spent more than enough on DSSD's (3 models and Ziggifying) I REALLY want those thin hour markers. They are what stops the Ult from being as perfect as a rep can be. Can anyone tell me if this vers is still using thin spring bars like the V5 or Rlx style thicker ones like the Ult? Cheers!

I'm a fan of the DSSD having had three; the pre 316f ult, the v5 (my example was utter crap) and now the 316f ult (but with flat top 12 marker - not the current noob 'ult'). What i don't understand is which one of Trevors you're all talking bout. The expensive one at his site, the one he calls the ultimate, seems the same josh currently sells? Is it the one down further down the list for $225 you're talking about? Maybe its worth adding to my collection for the thin hour marker edges... Also any close-ups of the the clasp thumbnail definition? That's one thing my first ult had over both the v5 and my current ult, it was much deeper and better defined. edit: oh, and does it take rolex spring (2mm) spring bars or normal ones like the v5? I want one too, but without the skills to build the choices are confusing. Hoping someone will point out the best way to buy OOB in this thread (aka - "buy the wm9" for rlx subs).

There are some great rep suggestions above so here's some reasonable priced gen workhorses for you. For waterproof automatic go seiko. For no battery required ever, digital, auto lume, torture and shock proof go G-shock.

I receive my tracking numbers before the QC pics. The tracking number doesn't mean its been shipped
