Hi, I'm shopping around for something a bit different, and have read good reviews of the Franck Muller King Cortez. Its so far removed from my usual taste I'm thinking about taking it one step further and buying gold and (I usually wear silver). I'm chasing your experience and opinions on the longevity of the "Thick 18K Gold Plating ... 5 mils". I've read some reports that it comes off on the bracelet easily, but not the watch head itself. Is there any truth to that? Does it last at all? Will it take a knock? Will living in a sub tropical climate (hot and humid = sweaty) affect its lifespan. Thanks for any input!

Check the gshock forum over on watchuseek. Don't want to give you misinformation off the top of my head, but there are great tricks there, including how to dye rubber another colour if beyond repair.

Hi Guys, the impossible to pull out crown on my Speedmaster date is getting very annoying. I've searched but only found that a lot of them, if not all, share the problem. Does the gen crown and tube fix the issue? Is there another fix? I'm thinking I could file a bit of underside flat edge that the crown sits up against (just put a tiny 45 angle for the finger nail to get under), but would rather not... Thanks for any input!

Haha, too funny Hi Nogs, as a relative n00b, I know how hard it is to pick the right dealer for you, and if someone had of told me this straight up it would have have saved me a lot of... well... money. After much trial and error with dealers, Josh is the best (IMO of course)! His DSSD "Ultimate" makes the competing "V5" look and feel like a kids toy. Great watch, great dealer!

Thanks Guys, If it isn't the v2 proper it certainly does share some of the features. The reason for getting the better version for the test drive is simply that if I'm going to spend a couple hundred bucks on a rep, I may as well get the best on offer... If you were shopping for something in the real world, and you found two products with negligible price difference, you'd pick the better quality product wouldn't you? Cheers.

Hi! Great thread! While on hols I tried on the gen of this and really liked it. It's actually pretty reasonably priced for Breitling so I'm considering buying the gen. Before I do though, I want to make sure it's for me, so I'm going to buy a rep... I mailed Josh with this question, but with the language barrier couldn't properly understand the answer, having read this thread previously (again, great thread, thanks!) figure its probably the right thread to ask in. I understand the V1 was Silix made, so is this one from Josh the V2 or something else entirely? SOH at PC It's seems to share some features of the v2, but just wanted to check that it isn't perhaps ike the cartel v1? I don't really want the chrono version of this watch (which is labelled v2), and would definitely go for the ETA upgrade at only fifty bucks. If it isn't the actual v2 what do you guys think of this one? Thanks for any help offered! Dan.

That's funny, I flew to three different location over the break with Qantas (always Qantas), Domestic once and international twice and noticed nearly all the males stewards wearing on my flights wearing Submariners. Had never noticed in the past but you're right!
