I'm not sure if everybody posting here have actually read the article (specially the NY Times investigation) or actually know the facts. Although cost of production is a big deal for profits, the main issue for Apple is the fact they can't find the skilled labor they needed in the US. That has absolutely NOTHING to do with government regulations, wages or benefits. "One could argue that Apple's success has come at the expense of the American manufacturing workforce, but if the New York Times' report is anything to go by, it seems the workforce Apple would have needed in America never existed to begin with." A similar issue is happening with the farmers in the south. All those stupid racist state laws created to scare illegals immigrants (which in the farm areas are mainly seasonal) have driven the skilled force away and now produce is rotten on the fields because the average skilled Mexican picker can work 25x faster than the Americans trying to do the same job.

ahh, because Tag reps are not so popular since the difference in cost from used gen to a rep are not that great.

just like the Pateks, Tags are passed from generation to generation kidding, there are tons of used Tag Links on eBay. Since they are not that expensive I believe people just prefer to go the eBay route.

Fantasy but nice. You will need real leather or croc strap instead of the plastic thing that comes with it. Also fantasy since the RG Portofino doesn't come with a black dial. Crown is too big, DW is too big and font wrong, caseback should RG as well. Apart from the fact it's a quartz (ugh) and totally fantasy (not a single thing is similar to the Altiplano's), I don't see anything wrong with it Awful. Stay away from anything that's labeled Tourbillon but in fact is an open heart cheap rep.

I believe so. Those cases are way too big for the 2824, so movement rings, stems, all those things would get in the way. And it's not like the A7750 is that expensive for them.

A correct rehaut would mean a completely new and different crystal. That would affect the bezel as well. So again, I don't believe it.

Actually the HBBs are HORRIBLE for water resistance. You will never be able to secure the chrono pushers and the fact the crown is not screw in make it for a very bad choice. That is correct but quite frankly unless you are a professional diver (and by professional I mean most of your dives are decompression dives) you will NEVER need a working HE valve (and if you are professional you would never depend on a replica anyway). I think many reps can be made water resistent to at least 5 ATM (which is PLENTY for the casual swimmer). Even if you are a recreational diver you will always be above 60 feet anyway.

I own gens, frankens and reps. I buy gens for function only and if i can find the same function on a rep, I choose the rep. I franken my reps to replace low quality parts with high quality ones (e.g. straps) or if the defects on the rep parts bug me too much.
