Pics of the IWC Ingenieur: IMHO one of the best reps every made
txcollector replied to dylan's topic in The IWC Area
so is the strong bright blue hue also present on the gen? I'd expect at least a more pastel/subdue color. -
if you knew what I was talking about you would understand the GMT question. Since you don't ... Just keep it up with your attitude and most people here that could help you will add you to their ignore list like I did. If that's what you're striving for you are in a hell of a path. You seem to enjoy confrontation but RWG is not about that.

Andy, your gen/rep comparison was the one the led me to the rep but I still can't believe the gen AR is so blue. Is it the gen on your top picture? I love my Ingy but I still wonder if the AR is correct. -

This is how the backplate looks on the gen As you can see you have the CDG (http://hiro.alliancehorlogere.com/en/Under_the_Loupe/Geneva_Stripes) under the dial The rep comes with a nice decorated plate but the factories used a perlage (which is easier to do) In person the watch looks fine. I think the perlage gives enough texture to the backplate but my OCD will eventually move me to get the CDG done. -
OMG, will this guy ever leave?? What an annoying [censored]. I don't know what your deal is but ALL you do around here is ask stupid questions and be very rude with EVERYONE, including the ones that try to help you. You look like a sad jealous loser that spends all of his time nitpicking threads and finding new ways to insult people. The only mystery here is what are you doing here on RWG. Find a rock and crawl under it. Who cares if the pics are not from his watch or even if he's a poser? 1) not everyone is talented enough to take good pictures (you are the first to bad mouth new members for not posting pictures while you have offered none of yours - do you even own a watch?) 2) even if he's a poser who that hell cares???? BTW, before you lecture one of our great staff members on dictionary definitions learn how to spell. The word is establish not establich.

Getting my first Rep today! Daylight Luminor
txcollector replied to CaptnAwesome's topic in The Panerai Area
That's a 21j with faux chronos (when you hit the chrono buttons the small dial hands move but they are non functional). That's unfortunately a low end rep, like Canal St low end. It's probably worth $40 but at least it wasn't a huge loss. -
+1 Yes! I buy/mod my watches for me, not for others.

The 5712R is gorgeous. I love the combination of the leather strap on the Nautilus. Amazing how Patek can pack suck a collection of complications on such a small package.
-
very nice. Great acquisition. I love GMT watches.
-
ah ok, so it's an indication for the GMT hand. So I'm assuming the GMT hands jumps in 1hr intervals, right?
-
so does the 270 have a 2nd GMT hand or that's just am/pm indicator that follows the main hands?
-
yep, that's the one. Get it.

what you need to look for on these 177 is the finish of the movement. The ones with platinum plated look at lot more gen like than the older ones. AFAIK that kind of finish only comes on the 6497-2 (high beat). I'm not 100% sure the H factory is using that though. I bought one of those movement from my dealer and replaced it on my 177 franken. The low beat finish is too dark and a dead give away for those display caseback.

The caseback won't fit. You may try to mill the caseback and remove the center medallion and transplant that. That's a LOT of work though. -

no it seems like it -
the case construction on those are very good. It's hard to find a place to test 10 ATM but 5 ATM is feasible. You don't need much more than that even for 100 ft dives (which are deep).

I'm not sure lume is something I'd spend my money on. Black lume is weak by nature. You may get some improvement but the cost/time is not really worth it. My 2c -
Looking forward to see your pics. I have both and I love them (although I'm finding the 187 a tad heavy). Welcome to RWG. I hope you like here.

I'm sorry but I'm quite fed up with you. You add nothing to these threads and you always find a very rude way to treat everybody. Why don't you take a hint and leave? @mariotakeyama Congrats on your purchases. The 29 and the 187 are very good reps. Enjoy them.

Did I buy a really good PO fake? Hope it's Gen
txcollector replied to HollyW00d's topic in The Omega Area
sorry but no, it's not I only consider gens for function not cosmetics. I'm a diver so the water resistance on the gen PO is why I went from the franken to the gen. -
so look at this scenario: I have a gen Omega PO and a franken. I use the gen to post ad pictures on some forum but I send you a franken. At first you can't really tell but then when you try to send to service you learn you have been had. Then you come after me with the Feds to get your money back. It happens that I have "documented" that I have shipped you the gen PO, down to pictures showing me packing and labeling (the same label I sent you as tracking with signature) the watch. However what I did was actually replace the watch before actually shipping. Now you go, take me to court and win based on my word against yours. I can claim you made the switch and you are trying to scam me. I'll be then the one sending the Feds after you. In theory all the laws and regulations look good until you have to actually prove something. Believe me financial institutions go thru a LOT of cost to document and prosecute fraud. Do you think the Feds will go after a $3K maybe bank wire fraud? Sorry to burst your bubble but you will be out of not only the original scam but also court costs.

however that's VERY hard to see on the wrist. I intent to mod the top plate but honestly that's our OCD talking. Completely unnecessary. -

That's an Asian 7753 model in tri-compass mode. You have from left to right: running seconds, hour totalizer for the chronometer, minute totalizer. In the center you have the chrono seconds hand and at 10 o'clock you have a small button to change the date. The hour totalizer hand will only move if you let the chrono run for more than 1hr. I have always thought that was a useless feature on chronographs. It's strange the reset button is stuck but not unheard of. Maybe you should contact your dealer to see if you can exchange it. Could you take more pictures outside under the Sun maybe? A wrist shot would be nice too. I have been looking at this model but I'm not 100% sure I'll like it. -
wait a minute, are you saying lack of regulation is bad? nahhh Those guys spend TONS of money to fly under the regulation radar and to lobby in D.C. so the regulatory reforms never get out of committees. Welcome to free market.

Gigantis ....... We all need one of these I'm sure
