  1. any suggestions where to get one? NOS would be awesome.
  2. meaning does the rep hold up to a close inspection (without a lupe)? DW, texture, color, etc.
  3. I just purchased one of Jackjo SSD and a gen insert. Will I need a gen dial as well? Is the rep good enough? If I need a dial where to find one (other than ebay)? thanks
  4. Guitars (12-string, classic 6-string and electric), keyboard and drums.
  5. yes and no. All I did was to print a high resolution pic of the DW on matte photo paper and then a lot of patience to cut it and center it. I can certainly send you guys the JPEGs or PSDs. The effect is very gen like but it's not a real overlay.
  6. Very simple ones. I installed a home made DW overlay, put a brand new ETA2836 and polished the crown.
  7. interesting. I was wondering if it was Notre Dame (they have tours of the bell towers) but I doubt they would let you stop to smell the flowers, err, take a pic of a watch great pic though.
  8. when you say winder, do you mean the big rotor in the back?
  9. The seller says in the ad the movement is a ETA 2846 because the original Rolex movement was damaged by water. Franken at best.
  10. yes, many gen pics appear not to have the roller but it's because they are hard to see. I believe the rep can be fixed though.
  11. I've seen 005K with rollers and the Panerai service center will install the new roller CG if a replacement is necessary. So it will be correct.
  12. Thanks for the comments. I may have a problem with addiction though I'm still looking for the allusive SSD and I may get the 41mm DateJust WG. Regular Rolex is just kind of too small for me. I just have one box, 5 pics. It's a Rainer. Breits: I'm not really into them. I'm not attracted to vintage either. I can't really see the lure. I prefer my watches brand new and scratch free. Got the box from another member. Rainer is a guy in Europe that makes them. Just Google Rainer Watch Box and you will see hits all over the watch community.
  13. I'd agree with the "brand name on a bracelet" comment if most of my watches where actually known by the vast majority of people I interact. I like variety and good quality reps give me the looks I want with the quality I need. Some gens are worth the money for the functionality (Rolex GMT, some of the professional dive watches, etc.) but the vast majority is just fashion.
  14. I have the same exact build here. Great watch. Enjoy.
  15. I'll do a side by side comparison of the dials. The gen is silver and changes color in different angles. The rep (apart for the difference in printing) has a beige darker hue all around. It's almost like the dial is "dirty".
  16. The only place you may find anything is at the Pearl Market and that IF you talk to one of the vendors and you ask for the "best quality". They may take you to a small house in a slum behind the market for you to look at boxes and boxes of things. Don't expect to find any high end reps. Mostly you will have 21j type thing.
  17. The MBW case construction is not as good as the sec@12. Both have the incorrect thickness to case mods will be needed, regardless. It's been more than 1 year since I've seen any ROO dial on ebay for less than $1,000. They are running for about $1.5K now.
  18. The main issue I had with the reps is weight. They feel cheap, even though some accept gen refills (which are excellent btw). I went the gen route on that one.
  19. probably. The construction is very good and really hard to notice any differences from the gen.
