if it's a replica it's very well made. The caseback has the correct series information (although I don't think the 6568 caseset was used for the E series but it can be a replacement), the movement seems gen (a little hard to tell 100% by the pics), the bezel notch at 11. However a few things bother me: the crown, the fact no picture shows the CG lever and the overall poor quality of all pictures. What's the story? does it come with papers? Any chance for a lume shot, profile shot of the CG and a frontal shot of the movement? what about it?

do you have a link to the seller?
-
still there. We need more folks reporting it.

there are so many things wrong with that ad: selling for my father, no papers, QUARTZ, wrong box. Funny he says that's very very rare.

I'm glad for you. When the buyer and seller are in communication things have a tendency to work out. -

Any long term health impact with rep rubber straps?

I'd say wearing anything from Walmart would fall in the category of chemical filled reps or worse -

you are talking about a patch that was engineered to deliver chemicals thru the skin. That's a totally different ball game. -
Another deal which seems to go wrong?

There are a few conditions (mainly related to regulatory conditions or fraud) that would trigger the bank to revert the transaction. The most common factor is lack of funds. Some banks have some clever schemes to allow you to overdraft just to charge you an enormous fee and screw up your account. My daughter was using her ATM card for things like fast food, etc and went over her balance by $5. The bank authorized the charge but hit us with a $150 fee. That fee would effectively influence a number of transactions in flight if left uncovered. Fortunately with the financial reform this kind of overdraft "service" has to be optional now (before they forced you to have it). If the transaction was funded with a CC, the buyer can dispute the transaction with a CC company and they will issue a chargeback to PP. I hope that's not what happened. -

Paypal is a broker not a bank. They take money from one party and give to another. During the PP transaction all they do is to ask for authorization from the payment source (bank, credit card or PP balance). Like any inter company transaction it goes thru a clearing house and takes 3-5 business days to be executed. During that period the payment source (e.g. checking account) may not have sufficient funds to complete the transaction and the transaction is reversed. That's an automatic process that does not require a dispute. The other option is for transactions that are funded by a CC to be disputed from the CC company (e.g. I call my CC company and complain the transaction was not authorized, the item wasn't shipped, item was not what was sold, etc.). In that case the CC informs Paypal the money won't be transferred or it will be reversed. It's a good sign the buyer has contacted you. That's the best way to solve this. PP won't be able to do anything for you there. -
Any long term health impact with rep rubber straps?

most health issues will come from people handling the manufacturing not by wearing it. Again you will have a rash before any health effects happen. Relax and enjoy your watches. -
what am I missing here? The member selling the 164 sold a REP B01 to a different member. jsuperman17 is stating he bought a gen Superocean. How are you connecting the 2?
-
judging by the position of the crown, I'd say gen.
-
I stand corrected then
-
considering the correct hand stack for the GMT is hour-GMT-min and the ones shown are GMT-hour-min, I'd say rep.

Any long term health impact with rep rubber straps?
txcollector replied to cougaree's topic in General Discussion
you will need a very long term exposure to chemicals from the rubber to be at any risk. Most likely you will develop a rash before any permanent damage will have a chance to take effect. Your skin is very tough, designed to prevent contamination of your body. Unless you are dealing with radioactive materials or you lick your straps daily chances are you are safe. -
The normal procedure if you want the admin team's help is to contact them with the details (sales ad, member information, details about the deal, a summary of your communication with the seller). With that kind of information they will be able to advise better. You have 45 days to file a dispute. If it's clear the item has not been shipped to your confirmed address the burden of proof will be on the seller. PP will probably reverse the transaction. If you funded the PP transaction with your credit card you can file a dispute with them as well. Dispute should be your last resort though. Let the admin team intervene for now. If the seller doesn't respond to the admins, then think about a dispute.

the lack of engraving is not necessarily an indication of a rep though. If you had it then it would be for sure OEM

pic of the underside of this part. Some models come with engraving under it. If the rubber is soft that's probably a gen. There are other rep straps that are soft but the look/color are off. Compare with a rep. What happens some time is for folks to sell an OEM strap with a rep buckle. The OEM rubber runs for $100 and the buckle for $300-350. If you've paid less than $200 for the set that's probably a rep buckle.
-
show a shot of the underside of the clasp. You should have some engraving there. And do you have a rep PAM rubber? If you do you can tell immediately. The rep is very stiff and the OEM malleable. Colorwise they are very close.

I'd second that. A gen superocean is not inexpensive so I can understand your concern. However I was trying to follow what was the issue and I had a hard time. So far this is what I could gather. - You paid for a gen superocean via PP (I'm assuming using payment as goods since he added the tracking number on your pp transaction) - The tracking number was added on the 14th and the USPS information lists a pickup was scheduled for the package but the pickup didn't happen. - Almost a week later and the seller doesn't provide more information or respond to your inquires. Did I get it right?

Just a hint. A couple of folks with "STAFF" as their role posted on this thread. I'd start there.

where there's money there's traffic. I doubt an AK-47 can be sent freely by courier but there are clever ways to hide contraband in the middle of legit goods (like foods for instance). It's very hard to inspect every large container that arrives at a port. Also you can get arms from less strict countries and drive them across borders.
