  1. Was using a jig to hold the watch while modding the crown guards. Evidently the watch slipped and the crystal cracked. Needless to say I am not real happy, but things happens. Now I am afraid that the watch will never be the same and I am stuck with a lemon so to speak. Hopefully he can make it right.
  2. I was afraid that a new crystal would be hard to find. How does the silicone method affect water resistance to about 3 ATM and is there much of a chance of it falling out?
  3. Sent my SSD off to have the crown guards reshaped and insert replaced. Well as luck would have it my watch guy accidentally broke the crystal and said that he has one that is a little oversized, but can silicone it in to make it fit. I have never heard of a using silicone to set a watch crystal and want to know if that would be a proper repair? Also, does anyone know the right size and where to get it?
  4. Guys, I know that this is a rep forum, but I have a bang, bang on another forum and as a joke put that I would trade for a Rolex watch. Low and behold this shows up. The watch looks beat up and the guys say he purchased it at an estate sale, no box and no papers. The pearl looks suspect, but what do I know. I am not a member of the Rolex forum or I would put it there. Anyone want to take a shot at value and authenticity? Also with all the scratches and such, how would it clean up?
  5. Thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for.
  6. Guys I purchased an Explorer I from a member which was made in 2008 or 2009 and need some help. 1. I have searched everywhere looking for a tutorial on how to change to case tube. can someone direct me to one? 2. Is the crown 6mm? 3. What size tap do I need? This will probably be answered in a tutorial. 4. Is there a crystal I can install to rid it of the etched coronet? I thank you in advance!
  7. Your house burns down, blows away, blows up, gets hailed on, or some low life steals your stuff and there you are waiting to collect some dough. Well, that's where I come in, I am a property claims adjuster.
  8. Well after taking a year or so off, I am back. Used to be on here as aclaimsman, but decided to start again as acatman. Hello everyone!
