  1. The gen Tudor crystal is too big. I wound up using mine on my Jumbo Prince Oysterdate! I ordered a plain sapphire of the correct diameter but it didn't come with the groove or lip. If you can get a plain crystal that fits I think that would be the best way to go and then glue on the magnifier...
  2. I cure mine by sitting them out in direct sunlight for 20-30 minutes. Your dial looks to have the date window in the "ETA position" while your crystal has the magnifier in the "Rolex position". I use a heat gun and occasionally pick at the magnifier with an Xacto knife until it pops off...
  3. I'll add that the above procedure B is only for a glass or sapphire crystal...
  4. After building my 100% rep Date-Day I was really bummed to find the dial was totally incorrect with "Prince Oyster" instead of "Oyster Prince". Chiman took pity on me and sent me a gen dial he had left over after "borrowing" some bits from it. Since I have several mid-size gen dials I'll probably never use I snagged the shield from one and stuck it on the Date-Day dial - voila, a new Tudor Oyster Prince Date-Day dial! I took apart the "incorrect" version, swapped the day wheel with one that didn't have the days numbered, and added the gen dial, and put everything back together. I think I've wound up with a very nice looking watch which will likely wind up in my daily lineup. Here's a couple quick pix...
  5. OK, spent a week with Rollies so back to Tudors. Just finished this one up today...
  6. Maxi No-Date Sub for this very early Friday morning!
  7. Crap. They are basically a "decorated" clone 2836. The screw attaching the faux balance bridge was loose on the only one I've had. I removed the decorative bits and after that I had a nice accurate clone 2836 that made the watch cost more than if it had shipped with an ETA... Reports also that the rotor cover falling off (attached with tape) and/or rotor falling off...
  8. This one just called to me this morning when I woke up!
  9. I could not find any when I built mine so I used DJ hands until a good Brother donated me a set that he had no use for. On the DJ hands I filed points on them with a diamond hone but I didn't get the angle correct on the first try and got the "donation" before I messed with them further. I think I could have gotten them fairly correct with a bit more work but it was tedious. BUT, I got to use the hand broaching vise/holder I snagged off fleabay!
  10. T, I don't think anybody makes one although it would be fairly simple for them to do so. All of the parts are there except for the dial... I scoured dhgate and found plenty, ordered one, and thank goodness for their payment escrow service! After pressing very hard for pictures of what would ship I was refunded and told the watch was "out of stock".
  11. I'm with Freddy, today. I've worn this for 6 days in a row and I never get bored looking at the fantastic dial!
  12. I heard a Ben Bridge Jewelers commercial on the radio today talking up the Rolex GMT Master II claiming it could track three different time zones. Have they added another hand or am I just missing something? Surely they wouldn't be mistaken about something like this...
  13. Very nice, I share your appreciation for roulette wheels!
  14. For some strange reason I decided to wear this today...
  15. Friday here too but will probably wear this all weekend...
  16. Use the proper wrench...
  17. Yeah, Eton, Ubi can be down-right evil at times! Me, still wearing the 2824 powered franken Air-King...
  18. I'm wondering how she keeps from falling over!
  19. King of the Air once again...
  20. Still "in the pink"...
  21. Be very careful removing the insert as these ceramic inserts are EXTREMELY brittle. Using a heat-gun or hair dryer to soften up the stickum helps...
