  1. Someone is stuck in the past, it seems...
  2. Great job on the dial and hands! A proper bezel and lug holes and you're home free!
  3. I'm getting the impression that mahand is getting dials in various diameters for some reason. I have built several with older mahand dials and they were all 28mm and fit perfectly in my 2824 cases. I am also not sure why the ingod dials are listed at 26.5mm as I have also used several of them and they also fit (or used to) cases meant for 28mm dials...

    Air-King

I have no problem "butchering" inexpensive dials. The feet were clipped and then the dial epoxied to the ETA dial spacer. These dials are generally under $100, a multi-hundred dollar dial I would be more hesitant... Oh, the Air-King is 34mm...
  5. I would like to get some of these, they have great engraving possibilities!
  6. Bang-up job! Wear it proudly!!
  7. Well, it is a rev 1 and the dial artwork was made from ... Goat, that was the general idea, I may case it up someday...
  8. I had kicked around the idea of making an "old looking" Space Dweller as it seems the only dial available is from ingod and it looks show-room fresh! Although I particularly like nice clean, crisp dials there are some who like them to look like they have been dredged up from the bottom of the Black Lagoon. I present this for your viewing pleasure/displeasure...
  9. Is that the Eskimo broad you have to wrestle after screwing the Polar Bear? Dang...
  10. It wouldn't matter to me. Rolex calling this an Explorer is like Chevy calling the new mid-size wanna-be Wimpala and Impala!
  11. Thanks, R! I finally quit drooling after you finished this thing and I feel the saliva flowing again...
  12. Even if it was 100% correct it has no soul. Very sad...
  13. Preacher - I think the 2824 cases look a bit more "gen-like" with the slimmer profile and higher crown position. This is the same case I use for building Explorers but I drill smaller holes for a DJ...
  14. cj - I probably did not "thin" that plate enough so when I put on a better DWO I'll hit it with a file again. goat - I'm kinda partial to the ET bezels on vintage. You are right, I had used this dial a year or so ago in a 2836 case with smooth bezel but really didn't like it so it got "recycled"... chi - long time no see!!! sgt - Thanks!
  15. I have a flex shaft on my Dremel and it makes it very "maneuverable"...
